As Epicmafia currently resides in a waning phase, I thought there might be some value (however small) in finally compiling and historicizing its history. I began this project a few weeks ago by posting silly writeups on certain people's profiles, and at the request of a few I am ready to begin taking requests and going public with the project.

Part I. Mafia. Mafia never changes. The Competitives played mafia to gather points and karma. Main built an empire from its lust for gold hearts and territory. Kunoichi shaped a battered Dangan into an economic superpower.
But mafia never changes.
In the 21st century, mafia was still played for the resources that could be acquired. Only this time, the spoils of mafia were also its weapons: memes and reports. For these resources, Kenny would invade Platybox, Golbolco would annex Sandbox, and the Games Lobby would dissolve into quarreling, bickering nation-states, bent on controlling the last remaining resources on Epicmafia.
In 2016, the storm of drama had come again. In four brief days, most of Sandbox was reduced to cinders. And from the ashes of dramatic devastation, a new civilization would struggle to arise.
The Owner Wars (2016) were a series of conflicts ignited by many attempts at coups and government reform in Sandbox. First initiated by Golbolco (with claims of intervention from Lucid,) the proverbial shot fired blazed a trail so long that the fallout would continue in the form of riots and skirmishes up until early 2018.
The impetus for the wars had begun back during the end of Chris's reign and the death of Super-Chimpy. There was much unrest in the King Kenny era, and his radical redrafting of the Sandbox constitution did not help Sandbox traditionalists such as Ballsy Q. Strippers (cited by Golbolco as a mentor and influence) rest easy in the chaos. Thus, something was eventually to be done about Kenny, and a covert alliance was formed with intent to destabilize the government and instate a new order.
I honked at some guy on the road that honked at me today and we parked right next to each other and there was no emotion or care in me anymore as I walked inside the store to pay for my gas and take off. I saw a car flip off the road and felt no empathy despite the knowledge that this isn't how I would have been as a child. There isn't a reason why I should or shouldn't have feelings toward others and their choices, yet the chemicals in our heads tell us otherwise and we don't know the difference between knowledge and chemical reaction. I stood over a family members coffin at a funeral not too long ago and the same feeling I had for them was the same I had for the flipped car and the man who honked his horn at me. I felt as if it was just another formality. It's the same feeling I get when I go to work every day except sunday, when I kiss a girl that I'm dating, when I watch people bicker, or when I take a large hit of my cigar. Sure, I'v had some good times when I was younger, but if I could choose to go back now, I wouldn't go back to living blissfully in a world full of trouble. The only thing I can be blissful about is that the misery is gone as well. Now there is nothing except my cigar, my memories, and myself. (3/3)
Here I am, teaching myself other languages on duolingo for free, better than rosetta stone, on my phone. Any time I need a few extra dollars, there is always something I can do right now and get paid for it right now as well. The English language is in many ways like Chinese, as you can use the same words you've always used in the same language everybody speaks, yet they have a different meaning to everybody. I see classes being divided more and more all the time, yet not by intelligence. This saddens me, but, no matter how much power you have over others, you have no power over reality itself. Some of you don't even have power over yourself because you don't even understand the nature of your physiology and how much more important it is than the opinions of others and how little peoples opinions matter. I believe I'v told people this already many times, but, it's worth posting in this thread about it. I'm Redbamboo, (The original before I deleted and the name was taken)Oldman, (The original before I deleted and the name was taken)Sociopath, Haxis, (The original before I deleted and the name was taken)Classygent, and a few others I don't even remember. I made many of the accounts before it was against the rules to do that, but, I'v never used more than two accounts after the rules changed. The purpose of doing that was to see how differently people treated me when I used various personas while playing as the same person, while going in character for other accounts and seeing how I was treated on those. As expect, different. Some people who hated my guts on some accounts, loved me on others. I'v been here for a long time and will likely come back every now and again to retrospect on a time period where I was confused about why people weren't intelligent. In the end when I made the final ultimatum and hit the nail on the head, I realize the world is full of idiots and that social status doesn't dictate intelligence; I can partially thank people like lucid for that, but, I can't hate them for it because I'm not a teacher. The world is changing, not just people. So many solutions to everybody's problem yet so little understanding from anyone of any one solution. This is the state of the hierarchy. (1/3)
Around the end of 2015, a popular fashion trend that developed in Sandbox was wearing a Santa hat for the yuletide season. Some people never stopped, and Thoughtful Olive is one of them. As a personality that's been around forever in Sandbox, it's a surprise that the most power he has held was a position of sandbox mod during Pax Morgana. It's actually quite admirable to have spent most of his time as a part of Sandbox society in the mafia rinks despite being one of the oldest left around. All in all, Olive is a pretty cool fellow who lives in Sandbox's oldest suburb surrounding the castle courtyard.
Relative to my Epicmafia experience, you are a pretty big and influential character. It would be shameful to not describe the great reign of Prince Bebop and the intertwined events, because those were some of the best times I've had on the site. You're probably the person who would get the second-longest lore entry as a character, and when someone asks about your ownership that'll be even longer.
The fun thing about this project so far is seeing how many connections there are between different people, ideas, and events. Sandbox is a soap opera.
Under Pax Morgana, Sandbox and Main developed a much stronger link. Bebop himself was appointed a site mod, which led to improved relations across the board. Jyshuhui was also a major contributing factor in strengthening the bonds. Through the summer and fall of 2016, Main Lobbyists could frequently be seen in and out of Sandbox, whether on the meme circuit or even trying out games. Unfortunately, however, the reverse was not nearly as common. Only a handful of Sandboxers compared to the number of Main Lobbyists coming in would venture into the Main Lobby. This meant that following the Christmas Eve War, any newfound positive relationship would shortly fall through.
Now in the modern day, as Sandbox withers, more and more have gone to Main Lobby, especially as closed-roles games have been passed into law. Perhaps if these Sandboxers were to convince some of their new friends to make the journey, there could be a revival.
The relations between Sandbox and Main have at times been peaceable and at other times extremely volatile. Before the Dangan Incursion, Sandbox, Training, and Competitive were closely linked with much crossover between populations. After Training and Competitive merged to form Main and Sandbox went through its first big shakeup, the communities would begin their drift apart. Through 2014 and 2015, the popular theory of the "Sandman" developed: i.e. that Sandbox dwellers were lazy, trollish, and incapable of contributing to or managing any large-scale organization that would benefit all the land. (More on this in another article.) Despite this, there was still some crossover between Main and Sandbox chiefly in the wealthy parts of society: these players, who were commonly characterized as "Chatgoers," were considered trustworthy and civilized, and could frequently be seen taking positions as site mods.
Thanks to a law passed by Hima and Kino while on the mod team, Sandbox under Kenny was classified as an entity free from direct moderator jurisdiction so long as the sandbox mod team themselves would manage crime. This only widened the divide and caused geopolitical confusion for years afterwards.
By the time the Owner Wars had begun, Sandbox and Main were completely divorced. Main Lobbyists would only enter as partisan troops for one faction or another as Sandbox glassed itself. The mod team had to be negotiated with on occasion, but other than Lucid's divinity the admins only took action once: instating Bebop and bringing about a new era.
Roxy aka coolkidrox123 is a young roboticist hailing from Survivor. She is most well-known for her private army of synthetic androids (erroneously called Alts) which she has maintained for years for purposes unknown. Roxy herself resides in the Survivor archipelago, but the influence of her drones can be felt all across the mainland with rumors of a presence in Dangan, Vidya, and even the legendary and semi-mythical town of Salem. What Roxy is preparing for is unknown, but some conspiracy theorists suggest that it is part of a contingency plan for keeping Sandbox alive long after its final death.
EMjack was an augmented reality suite designed to help people excel in games of mafia. First developed and circulated by Foxie for Sandbox use, EMjack spread like wildfire and eventually found its way to the Main Lobby until it ended up banned for a period of time. In 2016 a deprecated version of the goggles were allowed back on the market in Main. These days, since Foxie's exile, there is no mainstream support for EMjack and the apparel has mostly fallen out of use.
Snake Gladiator is one of the most competitive players in Sandbox. A champion of orthodox sandbox setups, this warrior from a far-off age of serpents proved a major thorn in Golbolco's side as she attempted to develop Golbultima--in fact, he should be credited as one of the major forces behind keeping the traditional 12 player games in use during that brief period of chaos. Snake Gladiator makes every game memorable with quotable commentary and has kept with the community consistently since 2013. He is a strong believer in some of Sandbox's traditions such as the Policy, but recently has come to criticize such laws such as the Middle Rule. All in all, Snake Gladiator is a man of the Sandbox people and represents their most basic needs and desires.
