This is a dedicated thread for users to bounce around and brainstorm on ideas for new roles, items, game mechanics or anything else to improve and build upon our beloved Mafia game.
Back in 2015 Sims made a thread asking if anyone had any ideas for roles since Lucid was looking to make some new ones (found here: https://epicmafia.com/topic/71173?page=1) That thread's dead now, but it's always good to try to bring the community together and come up with new stuff for the game.
Some of you might know my reputation for designing new roles and my passion for Mafia. EpicMafia is a pretty cool website and can always use some new stuff to spice up and remix the usual game formula, and I know a few of you have ideas of your own.

yeah if we're suggesting other minigame fixes i think ghost kicks should be the number one priority
either increase kick timer, say who kicked, or increase number of kicks. I've noticed it's a problem when impatient people/trolls end up kicking half the game because they run out of time.
Yes we need pings, a timer setting for all mini games that applies, and the kicks Shayne said lel.
Also I think draw it shouldn't have a typing penalty (the few seconds u can't type between answers). Cuz saying the answer with a typo and someone stealing it don't feel right and original draw my thing didn't have it anyway
Minigames need a complete overhaul with the kick system. Imo implement the Xs kick system that mafia has. Right now there is incentive for people to kick. I believe Alyssa might have mentioned this in the Bugs forum or somewhere else.
Jotto randomly kicks people out of games. This is also true for other minigames I believe but in Jotto's case, the cheat sheet is reset when re-entering the game. Dunno if it'd be easier to figure out how to stop people from getting kicked out of games, or to have the cheat sheet saved in-game to avoid this issue
personal gripe as one of the 4 users on the site who still enjoys jotto quite a bit
Also hearts again, game just broke after following events happened:
Circumstances: 4 player game, round started so cards were dealt out to all 4 players. One player leaves the game immediately so game continues with 3 players. One of the 3 remaining players shoots the moon with all the hearts in possession of the 3 players + queen of spades (4 hearts were in possession of player who left the game and weren't accounted for in the shoot).
Not sure if this is a coincidence but game broke shortly after the shoot, would probably need some more robust testing to check this.
For hearts, right now with the 10 round cap, the game could feasibly end when no player has reached 100 points. Could the round cap be increased to 16 to accommodate this possibility?
@admin Bringing up hearts again, but the queen of spades is now bugged to add 26 points instead of the correct 13; though shooting the moon now adds the correct point total (26)
better yet fix the other site problems that have been posted about a million times but got completely ignored
name a couple
suis still breaking games, many issues with mobile (some specific ones - menus auto picking first on list unless you tap very carefully, can't copy paste in unranked, whole lot of ingame formatting and scroll issues. there was a full thread with a list of them), strange loading issue where all elements on a page will be positioned way farther apart than they need to be and refresh usually won't fix it
also a recent role glitch: sometimes you just die with no death message or will, which i assume is a polar bear kill
when do suicides break games? is it related to the troublemaker?
i think the recent role glitch actually has to do with commuter, and has since been fixed. let me know if you still see that glitch.
as for mobile, i don't really count that as a site breaking bug, but i'll do a redesign of the mobile site once i return
suicides dont break games all the time, but if someone were to sui mid-game, theres a chance votes will lock and no other players will be able to vote/unvote, thus forcefully ending the game with no one being able to do anything further
this has been an ongoing problem for years, actually.
i thought this had been fixed since i patched a bug that Denial uncovered couple months ago, but i could be wrong. at least, it was reported that it greatly reduced the number of lockups. if anyone can determine, step by step, how to reproduce the remaining suicide bug, let me know. a token reward awaits you if i can squash this out once and for all
