Hello Sandboxers. Lucid is interested in making new roles, and I know you guys have a bunch of good ideas, so what I'd like to do is get a list of all of the best ideas in this thread and have a poll that you guys can vote on for lucid to make.
On an unrelated note, if you guys know of any bugs with existing roles, please PM me so I can test it out and forward it to lucid so they can get fixed

The stamper
At night, the stamper has two actions: copy and paste. Lets say he picks detective in copy meeting, and cop in paste meeting. The cop will become a detective. 2 detectives.

here's a role that is too complicated to work but I had fun thinking about it in theory so I'm posting it here anyway.
Magician/Showman/Whatever the isn't taken
-The Concept: An "invincible" role who puts other players at risk to save his own skin! If he's careless, the tricks he uses will blow up in his face. -The Wincon: Put on a good show for the town and perform [A NUMBER] of tricks successfully.
The Magician is a Super Ghoul who can redirect shots, kills, and lynches to a player they visit at night. This would make them truly invincible, but there are some pretty hefty catches to such powers! In order for a "trick" like this to work, two conditions must be met:
- The Magician can only redirect one type of kill at a time, and must get his tools together to perform such a feat the during the night. If he doesn't prepare for the right dangers, his trick will fail.
- Every good trick has some kind of secret, and for the Magician, that's his assistants. The player the magician visits must be alive when the attempt on the Magician's life is made, or else the trick will fail.
- If the assistant is targeted to suffer the fate Magician predicted for himself, he will take their place. This DOES count as a successful trick, but the Magician must be around to take a bow in order to win!

Christmas Tree:
-Everyone who visits the tree will receive a random gift (gun, vest, crystal, bread). It doesn't count as a visit by the tree. -If killed at night, the person who killed the tree will received a broken gift (gun kills shooter, vest doesn't protect, bread doesn't help, crystals don't work). -If visited by santa, role will be revealed to the santa. -Cannot be roleblocked. -Sided with the village.
This is what I got from a few minutes of thinking.
I'm going to try making some roles that assist thirds exclusively. with the sidekick role being tossed a round I figured some thirds could really use a partner or two, and having a slew of antagonist factions might be interesting. We've already got thulhu and admirer, so it's not like this is a foreign concept or anything.
These roles probably aren't too good, but if the general idea of specializing thirds takes hold I'm sure people could come up with much better stuff :33
here's a basic one for alien, which is usually scorned as one of the worst roles in the game. I also have a few crafted for Cult but as far as I'm concerned they are good enough on their own and already have thulhu.
Abductor - Wins with Alien, but does not attend Alien meeting. - If visited by Alien, the Alien's name will be revealed to Abductor. - Like Alien, the Abductor does not hold up games. - At the end of the day with a no lynch, the Abductor can select one person to carry off in his space ship, blindfolding them and keeping them safe from all other visitors. -The abductor can either kill the person or spare them, giving them a probe.
this role is pretty much exactly an alien jailer, but it's especially useful for them. it can kill off a non-probe, help the alien up its probe count or keep a probe living for one night guaranteed. these things are incredible for alien, who can neither protect their probes nor can they thin the numbers aside from begging the town to kill them, at least in typical sandbox setups.
better yet, the abductor has plenty of reason to both spare and kill their targets, leaving any victims to the whims of its player. i'm not sure whether or not the added probe is pushing it, but it could easily be omitted or given its own meeting if the abductor chooses not to jail that day.
Stronglyncher Attends Mafia Meeting Once per game, can choose to strengthen the lynch. This will: - Kill a Fool being lynched and prevent their win. - Kill a Tree, incinvible Clockmaker/ Werewolf, or Monked target. - Kill a Gallis on their majority lynch. - Ignore the Governor’s OT.
The name could be better, and idk about the role, but... thought it might be interesting.
