This is a dedicated thread for users to bounce around and brainstorm on ideas for new roles, items, game mechanics or anything else to improve and build upon our beloved Mafia game.

Back in 2015 Sims made a thread asking if anyone had any ideas for roles since Lucid was looking to make some new ones (found here: https://epicmafia.com/topic/71173?page=1) That thread's dead now, but it's always good to try to bring the community together and come up with new stuff for the game.

Some of you might know my reputation for designing new roles and my passion for Mafia. EpicMafia is a pretty cool website and can always use some new stuff to spice up and remix the usual game formula, and I know a few of you have ideas of your own.

NOTE: If you're here to complain about Sandbox moderation or the site mods, please don't.

Photographer is kinda op. The person who visits photographer and gets a report out of nowhere knows they visited photographer and can just out 2 clears and become a potential clear. 2 clears and 1 potential clear in just 1 day is a lot.

I like Waitress it could even work as mafia if tweaked a bit (claiming the role who gave you the item, penguin secret, whatever)

Heiress is kinda meh. It definitely shouldn't inherit the role of the dead person in my opinion.

Here I am coming back with my old roles but reworked mechanics:

Heiress
▸On the first night of the game, you choose a player.
▸When that player die, all his itens and role will be passed to you on the next morning if they weren't sided with the mafia.
▸If the chosen player was mafia sided, you keep your role but appear as mafia on cop reports.
▸Sided with the village.

Waitress
▸Every night you have to visit a player without the possibility to choose no one.
▸All the itens or reports you would get will be given to that player.
▸Sided with the village.

Photographer
▸Visits one person every night.
▸Takes a photo of that person, revealing their true alignment.
▸If not visited in the night, receives the report.
▸If you were visited in the night, one of the players that visited you will get the report instead.
▸Sided with the village.

Toymaker

-Visits one player every night.
that person will receive a toy which can be, toy gun, doll or fake bomb.

-Upon fire, the toy gun won't hurt anyone but everyone will know a gun was fired (with or without reveal)

-the doll is to be mistaken with the creepy doll.

-the fake bomb will explode but won't hurt anyone.

i think the common sense realisation that the role is only going to be used in sandbox for fun and most people don't care enough about one sandbox game to use an autoclicker

it'll never be used in ranked or comp ever so dont worry about it

I think we had a Duelist role in the works a few years ago and the concern was over using autoclickers or other exploits to just win every battle, is there any measure that could be taken against that?

Quickdraw / Duelist

- Once per day, during the day, can choose a player.
- A random number of system message ellipses show up with a set amount of time between each.
- After the ellipses have finished being displayed a system message shows the word "DRAW!". At this point both the Quickdraw/Duelist and the chosen player are given a gun that can only shoot the other person.
- Sided with the village.
