The only possible good that happens from claiming a power role when you're blue (or god forbid, miller) is that hopefully the mafia will kill you during the night. However, this will only happen if the mafia is especially stupid, as the real power role will usually cc. It's also good if a blue claims cop, then fakes a guilty on a person who actually is the mafia, but that's pretty rare. My opinion at least.
