Another way to do it is make the actions trivial, like frame/absolve, steal, and guard on mafia only (things mafia has no real use for n1, and town won't be likely using on mafia) and have the response for each of those actions be to convert the Director into the corresponding role... (or get lucid to add a "targets: me only" option)
Setup: Director, Scout, Lawyer. Role Book: Stalker, Godfather, Strongman. || Setup: Director, Nilla/miller, Hooker. Role Book: Stalker, Framer, Lawyer. || Setup: Director, Godfather, Stalker. Role Book: Nilla/bluesuit, Hooker, Framer. || .. you get the idea
... I think it would be best if built around a rough idea of an existing 3-player setup with 2 other mafia power roles. Perhaps the Director provides optional upgrades in exchange for losing a night of actions... following above will be some examples...
Hrm, ok.. lets see.. for this to be a meaningful addition to a setup, I think we will need meaningful choices between director roles and existing roles. Trouble is, there's a night where the existing roles will be able to act before being changed... OR you could have him block as well (and be unblock-able himself), but then existing roles will be more favorable.... (continued)
Heh I was gonna do something like this, but with framer/lawyer/sab.... couldn't figure out how to make it useful and balanced though.. (want it to only give out 1 role to himself or another per game)
