Hello everyone! I would like to ask the people who are interested in this event to participate and contribute as much as possible.

In order for 2 new roles to be added to em, the community has to work together to refine the ideas that are going to be mentioned below. We have to collectively select 2 of the best ideas and make sure their version is the best one possible. The next step would be to come up with some sort of artwork for the selected roles. Lucid mentioned something about rewarding the users behind the artwork that would get selected in the end for those 2 roles.

Jack the Ripper (originally Hypocrite)

  • Jack the Ripper hates anyone who kills.
  • Jack the Ripper only wins when the game ends and all murderers are dead.
  • If Jack the Ripper receives a gun or knife and kills someone with it, he will not consider himself a murderer.
  • To Jack the Ripper, murderers are killing roles or any other player that has successfully eliminated someone else (shot, stabbed, blown up, etc.)
  • If a player survives one of these actions, Jack the Ripper will not consider the attacker a murderer. (~Jennings)

Cat Lady

  • Chooses one player every night. The player is instantly alerted that a cat is at their door. They have two options: Kill the cat, and let it go. If you kill the cat, you are roleblocked and the Cat Lady doesn't know who was visited. If you let it go, the Cat Lady learns your role.
  • Sided with the mafia. (~Her)

Robinhood

  • Visits two people, taking all items from the first and giving them to the second (cannot visit self either way)
  • Action fails if trying to steal from a mafia
  • Sided with the village (~Torreador)

Vice President

  • If the president dies, takes their place
  • All townies immediately receive a message of their new president
  • Attends mafia meetings, and makes them anonymous
  • Cannot win if they are the vice president (~Alyssa)

Gossiper

  • Chooses one person every night.
  • Will see some whispers this person receives/makes.
  • Gossiper's action does not count as a visit.
  • Sided with the mafia. (~Soluciones)

(revising) the Seer

  • Knows all mafia from the beginning of the game.
  • If lynched at the end of the game, the last mafia can guess who the Seer is for autowin.
  • If the Seer dies, they will appear as a random (non-mafia) role in the setup and their will will always be blank. If dead, the mafia can still attempt a guess to the Seer's identity at the end of the game.
  • If there are multiple Seers in a game, only one Seer will know the mafia at any given time.
  • If there are two mafias and multiple Seers, the knowledge of the mafias will be split between them.
  • Sided with the village. (~Shwartz99)

Whistleblower

  • Once per game can force someone to vote someone else. Vote cannot be OT'D if it is a hammer. Sided with maf (Will create more tension in selfing/hammering based setups (~Moldyches)

Soldier

  • If they are the last man standing against a single mafia or third party, the village wins.
  • Sided with the village. (~XFire)

PowerTown

  • Each night chooses a power role from the options provided to him. (the mods should determine the list)
  • Night meeting goes accordingly
  • Sided with the village

PowerMafia

  • Each night chooses a mafia role from the list.
  • Night meeting goes accordingly
  • Sided with the mafia

I didn't know how to create a role with the role logic given so I'll give my 3 elf based role ideas here.
This should be fully coherent if anyone has questions.

Evil treestump.
Can choose to become an evil tree at night.
Once a tree, cannot be killed or conveted.
Once a tree, cannot vote (during the day or night.)
Can be killed if doused and lit by an Arsonist
Sided with the mafia, and participates in the mafia night chat but does not count towards mafia majority.

Elf
Has elfen magic they can cast during the day once per game.
Elfen magic transforms the target into a tree (if town/Third party) or an evil tree (mafia).
Trees cannot be killed or converted.
Once a tree, cannot vote, loses all abilities. (Like how mimic would steal all the abilities from a PR.)
Can be killed if doused and lit by an Arsonist.
Evil trees do not count towards mafia majority, and count towards the mafia night chat.
Cannot be targeted by any meetings on Night One.
Sided with the town

Dark elf.
Has dark elfen magic they can cast during the day once per game.
Dark elfen magic can override the lynch once per game, transforming the lynched target into an evil tree.
If the lynch is overriden from Hunter or Paparazzi, they still can perform their actions, but they won't die.
Evil trees cannot be killed or converted.
Once a tree, cannot vote, and loses all abilities.
Can be killed if doused and lit by an arsonist.
Evil trees are sided with the mafia, but do not count towards mafia majority.
Evil trees participate in the mafia night chat.
Sided with the mafia.
Participates in mafia meetings.

Since we're adding game modes, can we add this old idea as a submode for closed roles setups?

"Locked Roles"
-For the Closed Roles system.
-Locked Roles are a constant in the randomized setup that will make the Closed Roles system more a more versatile, and hopefully more viable, setup-making tool.
-When adding roles to a closed role setup, you would "add" the role once to add it to the randomized roster, the add it one more time to "lock" it, guaranteeing that it will be present in the setup in that number.
-Adding it again will then ALSO add it to the random roster as well as the locked roster. One more time will remove it from the random roster and add two locked roles. Then 2 and the random roster, then 3, then 3 and the random roster, and so on.

It wouldn't need an icon or anything, it just exists for when you select Closed Roles as a game option.

how about a system where instead of just choosing from a pool of alignments, you can have multiple slots. each slot will have it's own pool of roles and a number of those roles to fulfill. the setup is then generated from that? that should fit all use-cases?

maybe each slot can have alignment selectors, with subsequent rules like (except role 1 or 2) or (and role 3 or 4)

I was imagining it more like to when you make a multisetup: you would select a little lock symbol and then a second tab for adding the locked roles appears. The first slot is still selected entirely at random Your idea is good too though, we can probably combine them in some way. “Procedurally generated mafia” I guess?

Of Shwartz's long post earlier, I had two ideas.

Historian and Archaeologist (similar to that of Mort and Patho), which could be used in a no-reveal setup

Historian: chooses one dead player during the night phase, once per game. The following morning, there is a list of who they visited every night. There would also be another list of their final votes during the day phases.

System Message: As you check through SteelixMega's records, you discover they had conducted business with Army N1, Lionei N2. You also check their voting history to discover they voted DreamGate D1.

Archaeologist: chooses one dead player during the night phase, once per game. The following morning is a report of all items carried as well as a list of players who have visited them throughout the game (not in any given order). For this role, all day meetings targeting the user individually aside from votes and bombs also count (gunshots, knives, crystal, chef)

System message: After digging through SteelixMega's grave, you have evidence that suggests that they carried: gun D1. Also, their DNA scan shows that they have been visited by: Army, DreamGate, LioneI

with this, imagine a no-reveal setup with 3 tricksters, mort, patho, histo, and arch, and then ninja and 2 jans.

So mort is role
Patho is system msgs
Histo is visits and votes
Archeo is visitors and items

lucid would this be possible?

this looks interesting! i'll let Golbolco chew on it a bit more too but it's definitely doable

thank u! they don't necessarily need to show as gifs in-game (though that would be dope if you can figure out how) just on the profile

hey lucid, this isn't a role but do you think you could make gif avatars a possibility? there was a way to add them previously but it doesn't seem to work anymore. even adding it as a token option would be a good idea since you haven't added any new ones lately afaik :)

sure! i'll think about how to make that happen!

I've asked for this already and completely second this.
This has the potential to create massive competitive multi setups, and also very fun chill setups at the same time.

Btw I think there is a glitch for no-reveal and doctor being killed. It still reads the same messages as usual without mentioning the role.

Gossiper needs a way to tell which whispers are gossiper-only whispers and leaked whispers. People can easily test others who the gossiper is by having them out the leaked ones, which the gossiper doesn't know.

Have gossiped whispers colored in purple ect. or have a text to the left of them "Gossiped: *Whisper*"

ok, i'll fix this tomorrow
