New Roles

Hello everyone! I would like to ask the people who are interested in this event to participate and contribute as much as possible.

In order for 2 new roles to be added to em, the community has to work together to refine the ideas that are going to be mentioned below. We have to collectively select 2 of the best ideas and make sure their version is the best one possible. The next step would be to come up with some sort of artwork for the selected roles. Lucid mentioned something about rewarding the users behind the artwork that would get selected in the end for those 2 roles.

Jack the Ripper (originally Hypocrite)

Jack the Ripper hates anyone who kills.
Jack the Ripper only wins when the game ends and all murderers are dead.
If Jack the Ripper receives a gun or knife and kills someone with it, he will not consider himself a murderer.
To Jack the Ripper, murderers are killing roles or any other player that has successfully eliminated someone else (shot, stabbed, blown up, etc.)
If a player survives one of these actions, Jack the Ripper will not consider the attacker a murderer. (~Jennings)

Cat Lady

Chooses one player every night. The player is instantly alerted that a cat is at their door. They have two options: Kill the cat, and let it go. If you kill the cat, you are roleblocked and the Cat Lady doesn't know who was visited. If you let it go, the Cat Lady learns your role.
Sided with the mafia. (~Her)

Robinhood

Visits two people, taking all items from the first and giving them to the second (cannot visit self either way)
Action fails if trying to steal from a mafia
Sided with the village (~Torreador)

Vice President

If the president dies, takes their place
All townies immediately receive a message of their new president
Attends mafia meetings, and makes them anonymous
Cannot win if they are the vice president (~Alyssa)

Gossiper

Chooses one person every night.
Will see some whispers this person receives/makes.
Gossiper's action does not count as a visit.
Sided with the mafia. (~Soluciones)

(revising) the Seer

Knows all mafia from the beginning of the game.
If lynched at the end of the game, the last mafia can guess who the Seer is for autowin.
If the Seer dies, they will appear as a random (non-mafia) role in the setup and their will will always be blank. If dead, the mafia can still attempt a guess to the Seer's identity at the end of the game.
If there are multiple Seers in a game, only one Seer will know the mafia at any given time.
If there are two mafias and multiple Seers, the knowledge of the mafias will be split between them.

Whistleblower

Once per game can force someone to vote someone else. Vote cannot be OT'D if it is a hammer. Sided with maf (Will create more tension in selfing/hammering based setups (~Moldyches)

Soldier

If they are the last man standing against a single mafia or third party, the village wins.
Sided with the village. (~XFire)

PowerTown

Each night chooses a power role from the options provided to him. (the mods should determine the list)
Night meeting goes accordingly
Sided with the village

Each night chooses a mafia role from the list.
Night meeting goes accordingly
Sided with the mafia

i think adding a designated cultist leader role is a good idea, but does that mean removing the previous logic where cultist leader is chosen at random?

for Turkey, instead of coding some logic for delaying famine, why not just give everyone pieces of turkey that act as bread?

Oh yeah is there a victory song/sound for all new third party roles? Cause I'm pretty sure all the old ones do have personal sounds.
Also If cult becomes a new alignment they should have their own cool night music theme as well.

A lot of meeting groups would have to find alternate methods of communicating, and could only rely on being cleared to their partners. The mafia wouldn’t necessarily be able to coordinate except during the day, and that could be fun.

yea, these are all pretty good, leave it all up to Golbolco which one gets built first!

I think Monopolist should be built first. Did you ever implement the change so that items like guns stack? We'll need it for that role.

I remember reading through these roles a long time ago and still mostly feel the same way about them that I did back then. One thing though, if Lucid does end up making the Cult their own alignment, then Doomsayer should be cult-sided and add to their wincon when present.

Is it too late to still ask about the Turkey role?

Can you make it so that if you hover over an icon (e.g. your own, or someone who's been revealed, or someone in the gy) it tells you the name of the role an the description?

The Devil

- Once a day, the Devil can choose a player to make a deal with during a night meeting.
- The Devil will offer certain advantages that the player can either accept or refuse (receiving a gun, knife, vest, bread, key)
- If the advantage is accepted, one of three disadvantages chosen by the Devil (being roleblocked the following night, the player's vote cancelling out the next day, or dying in two days) will be given to the player who made the deal.
- Wins if Devil successfully makes three deals.
- Sided with the third party.

Won't the village just never accept the third deal, causing the Devil to lose the game everytime? I think it would be more interesting if the debuffs happened when refusing the deal (like with my Pumpkin Spirit role). Then it'd be pretty interesting since players would be forced to pay for not letting him win but the game wouldn't end (town doesn't lose). Still could use some additional win condition in case the third deal never gets accepted.

Exorcist

- Every other night (N1, N3, so on), the exorcist can choose a user to perform an exorcism on.
- The exorcism reveals all of the users' "demons" and gives the exorcist all the information (i.e. their role and who they've visited throughout the game).
- Sided with the village.

I wish I was good at art to help make the Gunslinger / Sharpshooter fit with the other roles.

You're right those were the first icons I ever made and the color scheme I chose is too dark compared to others.

Ngl if the hamburger role was ever made I'd actually prefer it to be the one someone created that looked human.
