Hello everyone! I would like to ask the people who are interested in this event to participate and contribute as much as possible.

In order for 2 new roles to be added to em, the community has to work together to refine the ideas that are going to be mentioned below. We have to collectively select 2 of the best ideas and make sure their version is the best one possible. The next step would be to come up with some sort of artwork for the selected roles. Lucid mentioned something about rewarding the users behind the artwork that would get selected in the end for those 2 roles.

Jack the Ripper (originally Hypocrite)

  • Jack the Ripper hates anyone who kills.
  • Jack the Ripper only wins when the game ends and all murderers are dead.
  • If Jack the Ripper receives a gun or knife and kills someone with it, he will not consider himself a murderer.
  • To Jack the Ripper, murderers are killing roles or any other player that has successfully eliminated someone else (shot, stabbed, blown up, etc.)
  • If a player survives one of these actions, Jack the Ripper will not consider the attacker a murderer. (~Jennings)

Cat Lady

  • Chooses one player every night. The player is instantly alerted that a cat is at their door. They have two options: Kill the cat, and let it go. If you kill the cat, you are roleblocked and the Cat Lady doesn't know who was visited. If you let it go, the Cat Lady learns your role.
  • Sided with the mafia. (~Her)

Robinhood

  • Visits two people, taking all items from the first and giving them to the second (cannot visit self either way)
  • Action fails if trying to steal from a mafia
  • Sided with the village (~Torreador)

Vice President

  • If the president dies, takes their place
  • All townies immediately receive a message of their new president
  • Attends mafia meetings, and makes them anonymous
  • Cannot win if they are the vice president (~Alyssa)

Gossiper

  • Chooses one person every night.
  • Will see some whispers this person receives/makes.
  • Gossiper's action does not count as a visit.
  • Sided with the mafia. (~Soluciones)

(revising) the Seer

  • Knows all mafia from the beginning of the game.
  • If lynched at the end of the game, the last mafia can guess who the Seer is for autowin.
  • If the Seer dies, they will appear as a random (non-mafia) role in the setup and their will will always be blank. If dead, the mafia can still attempt a guess to the Seer's identity at the end of the game.
  • If there are multiple Seers in a game, only one Seer will know the mafia at any given time.
  • If there are two mafias and multiple Seers, the knowledge of the mafias will be split between them.
  • Sided with the village. (~Shwartz99)

Whistleblower

  • Once per game can force someone to vote someone else. Vote cannot be OT'D if it is a hammer. Sided with maf (Will create more tension in selfing/hammering based setups (~Moldyches)

Soldier

  • If they are the last man standing against a single mafia or third party, the village wins.
  • Sided with the village. (~XFire)

PowerTown

  • Each night chooses a power role from the options provided to him. (the mods should determine the list)
  • Night meeting goes accordingly
  • Sided with the village

PowerMafia

  • Each night chooses a mafia role from the list.
  • Night meeting goes accordingly
  • Sided with the mafia

I like that chef roleblocks and can chef with self imo

If you're going to take a hiatus can you make some minor changes to some roles?

Prosecutor has a vote toggle at night and during the day.

The end meeting vote for party host being a vote that locks in.

Gossiper getting the leaks in a different text color.

Chef meeting not role blocking and locking in/no self chef.

And maybe a minor one would be having snowqueen blizzard effect always active past n1.

(this way party crasher is viable with the snow queen.)

These are all changes that I'd like to think are simple but should be enough to make some changes.

Also comedian can't go on ninja and surgeon still sometimes kills roles other than the mafia role killing it's target.

To clarify, the system messages don't actually affect anything except Journalist and Informant ect.

Psychiatrist

- Can choose any role available in the setup (Like werewolf and tailor does.)
- Chooses a person during their "Psychiatric" meeting.
- The person will receive system messages relevant to the role that the Psychiatrist chose (If I chose Blacksmith and went on PonyGoodlight, it would say that they received a vest.)
- Sided with the mafia.

imo the most eloquent style of converting role would be a tree style thing. Trees being unable to vote/count for majority makes them quite fun.

Maybe a third party role like ENT that can slowly turn someone into a tree over a few nights.

Maybe instead of trees winning with them he would win by himself and get +1 vote weight for every tree in the game that would make that role a threat for the village and maf. Another name idea is Green Father but Ent is cool too.

i may have to take a month's hiatus soon from the site. to do on my list is graveyard roles (medium + mourner), which would prepare me to create a whole new mechanic in the game once i return.

i'll also see if i can add wordsmith quickly before i go

let me know if there are still any pressing bugs i need to fix and i'll try to get to them soon

and in my opinion and role with a % sign in it's description gets a hard no from me.


I agree. Randomness is inherently evil to me :D
But this role is too...

this reminds me of trexter444's custom role called Trigger Happy.

Has 6 guns

Starts off with 30% chance of backfiring.

Every shot increases chance of backfiring by 10%.

Wins if in final 2.

That might be a cleaner fix.

The point of prosecutor is having vote majority on certain days. Obviously setups are designed around them not ALWAYS having vote majority.

Giving them the choice of how many votes to toggle between should work.

Honestly, I completely agree with Brigitte's idea to have prosecutor's self vote 1.

I think it's a brilliant idea and doesn't force setups with Prosecutor to have judge in it as well.
