Hello everyone! I would like to ask the people who are interested in this event to participate and contribute as much as possible.
In order for 2 new roles to be added to em, the community has to work together to refine the ideas that are going to be mentioned below. We have to collectively select 2 of the best ideas and make sure their version is the best one possible. The next step would be to come up with some sort of artwork for the selected roles. Lucid mentioned something about rewarding the users behind the artwork that would get selected in the end for those 2 roles.
Jack the Ripper (originally Hypocrite)
Jack the Ripper hates anyone who kills.
Jack the Ripper only wins when the game ends and all murderers are dead.
If Jack the Ripper receives a gun or knife and kills someone with it, he will not consider himself a murderer.
To Jack the Ripper, murderers are killing roles or any other player that has successfully eliminated someone else (shot, stabbed, blown up, etc.)
If a player survives one of these actions, Jack the Ripper will not consider the attacker a murderer.
(~Jennings)
Cat Lady
Chooses one player every night. The player is instantly alerted that a cat is at their door. They have two options: Kill the cat, and let it go. If you kill the cat, you are roleblocked and the Cat Lady doesn't know who was visited. If you let it go, the Cat Lady learns your role.
Sided with the mafia. (~Her)
Robinhood
Visits two people, taking all items from the first and giving them to the second (cannot visit self either way)
Action fails if trying to steal from a mafia
Sided with the village (~Torreador)
Vice President
If the president dies, takes their place
All townies immediately receive a message of their new president
Attends mafia meetings, and makes them anonymous
Cannot win if they are the vice president (~Alyssa)
Gossiper
Chooses one person every night.
Will see some whispers this person receives/makes.
If lynched at the end of the game, the last mafia can guess who the Seer is for autowin.
If the Seer dies, they will appear as a random (non-mafia) role in the setup and their will will always be blank. If dead, the mafia can still attempt a guess to the Seer's identity at the end of the game.
If there are multiple Seers in a game, only one Seer will know the mafia at any given time.
If there are two mafias and multiple Seers, the knowledge of the mafias will be split between them.
Sided with the village. (~Shwartz99)
Whistleblower
Once per game can force someone to vote someone else. Vote cannot be OT'D if it is a hammer. Sided with maf
(Will create more tension in selfing/hammering based setups (~Moldyches)
Soldier
If they are the last man standing against a single mafia or third party, the village wins.
Sided with the village. (~XFire)
PowerTown
Each night chooses a power role from the options provided to him. (the mods should determine the list)
Night meeting goes accordingly
Sided with the village
PowerMafia
Each night chooses a mafia role from the list.
Night meeting goes accordingly
Sided with the mafia
What is your favorite role mentioned in this thread?
it could be a better concept! just give it some thought
I appreciate your attempts to improve the situation to some extent. But really, I just give up on it. I spent a month (arguably about 2, but 1 actively) trying to get in touch with site staff about this issue. I had to create a new account to bypass a ban (it was a ban I asked for, not a rule break, so don't worry) and go through all the annoying requirements to be able to post or contact staff, only to be ignored about it, so I had to go through more stuff to get THIS account unbanned so that I could post from it, hopefully garnering more attention to this since it's a role I suggested from this account. And. Then Golbolco did Golbolco things and was a jerk because she thinks that it's funny and unimportant.
I don't see a reason to deal with it any further. Came back to EM just to fix my small contribution to it and instead got slapped in the face. Like a bunch of times. Just gonna stop being here.
also for Mourner, just want to craft it out a bit more, when it polls the dead for questions, should it receive just a breakdown of the percentage of yes / no / (other choices), or just the majority, and what to do about tied answers in the latter?
Give the results in percentage, like 80% Yes and 20% No.
for medium, how do people think multiple mediums should work? should each hold their own separate seance, or if they pick the same person, two mediums join the same seance, or should it be just one big group as it is now?
I think one group is fine. That way you can interrogate a dead person and get multiple opinions on it. But I'm happy if other people want them split up, it's not that big of a deal to me.
I think it makes sense for all of them to vote together (the way it is right now). Just don't make setups with 5 mediums 1 mafia lol.
Also was it intended for the seance target to be able to switch between the seance chat and the graveyard chat? I don't actually have an opinion if that's a good thing or not, just wanted to ask.
also, i'd like to start thinking of how a Resurrectionist and Exorcist (the role that would make the dead truly dead! [need a better name]) could possibly work in a setup

If that's true, they shouldn't be stealing other people's ideas. Something I worked hard on, they just replaced with a worse idea of their own. I don't mind them using that idea, but they need to change the role name and picture and remove any credit to me.
Make the graveyard chat text stand out from the alive chat when medium is in the game. Because right now it just all blends in. Maybe just make it red the way it is without the medium.
when multiple mediums are present in a game, they all share a day meeting, meaning that they all know the other mediums. it looks like all mediums have to agree on one person to choose for the seance? seems a little weird.
if 1 person dies n1, all mediums are present for the same seance.
is the role supposed to work like this? i'd prefer if it didn't.
