Hello everyone! I would like to ask the people who are interested in this event to participate and contribute as much as possible.

In order for 2 new roles to be added to em, the community has to work together to refine the ideas that are going to be mentioned below. We have to collectively select 2 of the best ideas and make sure their version is the best one possible. The next step would be to come up with some sort of artwork for the selected roles. Lucid mentioned something about rewarding the users behind the artwork that would get selected in the end for those 2 roles.

Jack the Ripper (originally Hypocrite)

  • Jack the Ripper hates anyone who kills.
  • Jack the Ripper only wins when the game ends and all murderers are dead.
  • If Jack the Ripper receives a gun or knife and kills someone with it, he will not consider himself a murderer.
  • To Jack the Ripper, murderers are killing roles or any other player that has successfully eliminated someone else (shot, stabbed, blown up, etc.)
  • If a player survives one of these actions, Jack the Ripper will not consider the attacker a murderer. (~Jennings)

Cat Lady

  • Chooses one player every night. The player is instantly alerted that a cat is at their door. They have two options: Kill the cat, and let it go. If you kill the cat, you are roleblocked and the Cat Lady doesn't know who was visited. If you let it go, the Cat Lady learns your role.
  • Sided with the mafia. (~Her)

Robinhood

  • Visits two people, taking all items from the first and giving them to the second (cannot visit self either way)
  • Action fails if trying to steal from a mafia
  • Sided with the village (~Torreador)

Vice President

  • If the president dies, takes their place
  • All townies immediately receive a message of their new president
  • Attends mafia meetings, and makes them anonymous
  • Cannot win if they are the vice president (~Alyssa)

Gossiper

  • Chooses one person every night.
  • Will see some whispers this person receives/makes.
  • Gossiper's action does not count as a visit.
  • Sided with the mafia. (~Soluciones)

(revising) the Seer

  • Knows all mafia from the beginning of the game.
  • If lynched at the end of the game, the last mafia can guess who the Seer is for autowin.
  • If the Seer dies, they will appear as a random (non-mafia) role in the setup and their will will always be blank. If dead, the mafia can still attempt a guess to the Seer's identity at the end of the game.
  • If there are multiple Seers in a game, only one Seer will know the mafia at any given time.
  • If there are two mafias and multiple Seers, the knowledge of the mafias will be split between them.
  • Sided with the village. (~Shwartz99)

Whistleblower

  • Once per game can force someone to vote someone else. Vote cannot be OT'D if it is a hammer. Sided with maf (Will create more tension in selfing/hammering based setups (~Moldyches)

Soldier

  • If they are the last man standing against a single mafia or third party, the village wins.
  • Sided with the village. (~XFire)

PowerTown

  • Each night chooses a power role from the options provided to him. (the mods should determine the list)
  • Night meeting goes accordingly
  • Sided with the village

PowerMafia

  • Each night chooses a mafia role from the list.
  • Night meeting goes accordingly
  • Sided with the mafia

also for Mourner, just want to craft it out a bit more, when it polls the dead for questions, should it receive just a breakdown of the percentage of yes / no / (other choices), or just the majority, and what to do about tied answers in the latter?

Give the results in percentage, like 80% Yes and 20% No.

should there be a (don't know) option?

I see that being exploited as putting in the question: Who is mafia? (Yes for Person1, No for Person 2 and Dunno for Person3) so putting a third option just makes it's more likely and accurate.

but the question could be, if there is only one person in the graveyard, and you are sure who it is, you can ask thing like "did you see blah visit blah"

Put a way to abstain from voting.

admin, when are you going to implement the other changes? the changes where you can customize each role...???

lucid, I've got something new to introduce.

After finishing a game, we go to a website with ~/review suffix. There, we can read a summary of the game we've just played. There's "Events" tab that registers all kills, lynches as well as doc successful saves and cop investigations. It doesn't registry saves/investigations for any other roles. Could you improve this? We'd also like to see registry of roleblocking, conversion (as well as those prevented due to shrink/enforcer/surgeon), gifts (gunning gunsmith, etc.)

Or maybe rename the whole thing to 'quitting'

But then again even if we change just the graveyard to dispelled then the suicide still doesn't fit (cause like you "die" but don't end up in the graveyard?)

I think the "quit the game" will be fine for now.

Oh also if a player is dead in the graveyard, can you change the message from "(player) commits suicide" to something else because that message makes 0 sense since the player who commit suicide was already dead

help me think of something! i want to replace all suicide terminology to something else

"(Player)'s soul has dispelled from the graveyard."

I like the word choice of dispelled here instead of disappeared as dispelled gives more of a magical vibe.

maybe just default to this unless anyone has something good

Ok this probably isnt a medium bug, but is there a way to help us differentiate between whos in the graveyard and whos in the village, because with the graveyard meeting, everyone seems like their alive, and it's really hard to tell whos listening to you and who isnt

try refreshing your cache, it should be red now!

also, i'd like to start thinking of how a Resurrectionist and Exorcist (the role that would make the dead truly dead! [need a better name]) could possibly work in a setup

I think Resurrectionist would be very fun in setups with No Reveal on. You could also use it in other types of setups if you just want to clear someone, but my main focus would be on No Reveal games. For Exorcist, I guess it just depends on what actions the dead players can take. I really like moonlightseal's Gatekeeper, Exorcist could be a good counter to it.

i think graveyard games should be no reveal by default, come to think of it

In my opinion Medium for example works even without the no reveal.

i also want to crowdsource at least one role that has a win condition in the graveyard! perhaps with this role, graveyard can have it's own meeting where it votes amongst themselves, and depending on how the votes go in the graveyard, that role could win

the question could be very open ended depending on setup
