As Epicmafia currently resides in a waning phase, I thought there might be some value (however small) in finally compiling and historicizing its history. I began this project a few weeks ago by posting silly writeups on certain people's profiles, and at the request of a few I am ready to begin taking requests and going public with the project.

Cory en la Casa was a professional League player, a political activist, and probably one of the most infamous banned users in Sandbox history. Emerging onto the scene in 2012, Cory was banished for the attempt on her ex-boyfriend's life and would not make a public reappearance for some time. When she reemerged in 2015 during Kenny's reign in Sandbox, she began her political activism and also became known to the wider community for her love of ferrets and hatred of hamsters.
Kenny's robust moderator force made swift work of Cory's many faces. She later returned during the Garden era, and rumor has it that Garden sanctioned some of Cory's antics, including the assassination attempt on B. Dog1321.
Cory made sporadic appearances until her official unbanishment as declared under Edark the administrator. Supposedly she would be kept on a one-violation leash, but this fell through as months went by. An attempt on her life by the Rednosed failed, but kept her at bay for a while until her final return and public duel with Alyssa the moderator, who swiftly destroyed her.
Part of the legend behind Epicmafia's eventual apocalypse is that one day, Lucid will program a role so powerful and versatile that it will destroy the game of mafia itself. This role, called War Demon, was first mentions in the writings of the Last Prophet when he wrote of Epicmafia's downfall. Then, myth became reality.
In August of 2014, the magician DarkSkull crafted the War Demon role and sent it to Lucid for production, all the while advertising it across Main Lobby to garner support. In response, hundreds flocked to the tower of DarkSkull and protest the War Demon. The collective response to War Demon was so powerful that the psionic energy ended up destroying DarkSkull himself; he and his roles were never seen again. A monument to War Demon's downfall stands just outside of the Main Lobby's city limits, serving as a reminder to all prospective role creators.
Cirno the 9th was one of Sandbox's most infamous criminals under the Chris era. Nobody knows where he came from, but once in Sandbox he developed a reputation as a serial killer known for targeting young women. Chris's attempts to capture and bring Cirno to justice led to the installment of Sandbox's first permanent moderator, SuperChimpy, and Chris was forced to plea with Lucid to allow Chat-bans in order to prevent Cirno from wreaking havoc in public areas. Eventually Cirno was caught when he entered the private home of NightOfTheLivingCats, who was hosting a social gathering with Hima, Ballsy, Buddy Holly, and Spaceranger. Cirno began to self-mutilate and play with his own blood in front of them, and finally someone at the Chatbox released his information and whereabouts to Chris. The moderators were able to arrive in time and carry him off to a world far beyond Outcast.
The Policy refers to a tactic employed primarily in Main and Sandbox: target those who do not have unique masks and garb and instead wear the traditional grey shawl and fedora that Lucid issues to everyone at arrival to Epicmafia (called Noavis.) The policy works something like this: if there is nobody better to lynch in a game of mafia, lynch the noavi. In Sandbox, the historical justification of the noavi is that they are less likely to know how to play and thus keeping them alive will ruin the game for everyone else. Studies have shown that the Policy is the leading cause in the reduction of Sandbox's population.
A relative newcomer, Nakhhash has climbed the ranks of the Sandbox social strata with little difficulty. Although he is known as a meme merchant, he works on the private markets between users. He is a master of disguise with dozens of alter egos used to game the system, perhaps only matched by legends such as Roxy, Verumbark, or Dragonflyz--if they're not all the same person.
Christopherzilla reemerged as an influence over Golbolco in May, leading to the establishment of the Daily Drama Report. He maintained a low profile in the caves along the dune seas, but nevertheless quietly caused chaos during Pax Morgana in a revenge scheme against [DATA NOT FOUND]. Come the Christmas Eve War, Chris had a direct audience with Lucid and pled for the ownership of Sandbox again, which he was granted. His second coming was a rocky time for Sandbox, however, and Bebop was not so quick to give up his rule; instead he immediately threw support behind Golbolco as his rightful successor, who excused herself from the conflict. Chris chose Fred as his successor instead, and after finishing his hit novel DinoQuest (300k copies sold across Epicmafia,) left once again for the caves under the desert. Like his master Lucid, Chris slumbers and dreams of other worlds.
Christopherzilla, the once and days of future past king, was Sandbox’s first and seventh Sandbox owner. A dragon of great might and power, he emerged in a time before time and accompanied Lucid on the great journey across the void to Epicmafia. Chris made his nest in the wastes that would eventually become Sandbox as ordained by Lucid. When the other great heroes of Sandbox emerged they were kept first as Chris’s prisoners and dragon hoard, and then as guests and enforcers of his dungeon. When the famed adventurer Luap Nor came to slay Chris, he had a change of heart and shirked his draconic ways; falling in love with Luap, he had Lucid declare Sandbox as a realm under Chris and his new wife’s rule.
Chris’s rule was the longest of any Sandbox owner and marked by a legendary time of growth and prosperity. Characters like Shigginator, Yogi, Platypops, Ballsy, Hima, and Reamix originates under Chris’s rule. Styles of Sandbox games were far more varied, and the community was a mix of all sorts. But the Chris age came to a close with the emergence of [DATA NOT FOUND] and the Super Chimpy crisis. When [DATA NOT FOUND] and his allies declared protest against his imprisonment, Chris finally relented and gave Sandbox to his reagent Platypops, then he and Luap took to the skies not to be seen again...
Foxie, otherwise known as "the Nikola Tesla of Sandbox," is an engineer, inventor, artist, and inspiration to us all.
Entering Sandbox in the First Age, Foxie made a name for herself by coming up with fabulous little ways of exploiting Lucid's code. For example, at one point anyone who tried to enter Sandbox would be redirected to Foxie's personal villa in the northern meadows. This caused a great headache for everyone involved, but Lucid himself eventually came down to fix the problem.
Foxie was very influential in the 2015 and 2016 period, for having invented the EMjack suite for aid in playing Sandbox games made her quite popular among most. During Lucid's reawakening in 2016, Foxie had his ear and helped form what would be the first incarnation of the Role Patrol.
In 2017, following the joint Edark-Bebop-Merlot hearings on what to do in the wake of Fred's abdication, Foxie was appointed Sandbox owner. She passed on ownership of the land to Dooze. in mid-2017, some speculating that it had to do with a scandal involving the being known as Verumbark. Foxie left for lands unknown, and the EMjack suite fell out of use with competition from Lailai's enhancement suite and other similar AR tools. On occasion Foxie can be seen playing a game here or there, but she has yet to make an official reentry into the Sandbox community.
