the problem is when a secret person gets modded and the admin is the only one who knows, mods try to figure out who it is and get miffed that they aren't trustworthy enough to know.
If the mods do know the secret alt, it's a lot easier for that person's identity to leak.
It's overall not a good idea in the current system.
@Rondar I think that doing ~10 reports a day is pretty reasonable. The cheating investigations and community management wore me out.
dealing with the reports was my only problems. it got tedious. everything else was fine tbh. yeah i always thought this was the solution. wanted to be an anon mod myself once but the admin at the time (i dont remember who it was honestly) didn't like the idea.

all the best admins are the ones who still do reports when they become admin, i think.
Before anyone tries to pin the blame of the 'sinking ship' to anyone, I don't think there really is 'one person to blame'. There are a lot of things that make modding EM hard and the negativity in the community plays a a role there. The mod team itself also plays a role, I don't believe you can 'fight' negativity by acting badly in the forums yourself. And yes, sometimes mods 'circlejerk' and yes, issues like these, with Jericho, don't help. There are factors both within and outside the mod team and the only way to make it better is to work together as a community I guess. I'm not sure if that can work though.
Back in the days of Renaldo's screenshot I mostly had fun in modding though. Things went pretty smoothly for a while.
