I tried it a few rounds ago, but it indeed takes SO much time and I seem to enjoy spending less time on EM. So I don't think it'll happen sometime soon, but who knows when I feel like it :-D
I think one of the issues was that Vancy and I had different leadership styles and the team that he inherited was built to support someone like me, not someone like him. I think if he had stuck around longer he could've turned things around. There's always turnover when power changes.
Sims, I don't think Vancy alienated members of the mod team, I do think that he especially at the beginning had some trouble to find his way within the team. And the basis of teamwork we build before him was still very thin. So with an admin that had to find his way, it was very easy to become a weaker team again. I don't think that's truly his fault, it's just that we lacked a strong enough basis. Well that's how I feel about it anyways.
Lady I appreciate how much detail you put into explaining your verdicts, especially on more complicated ones. You're very level headed, which I always liked about you.
You should try running again for a trophy if you have the time.
I think the trend is that people who come from non-competitive backgrounds ultimately end up preferring those setups to other forms of mafia (training setups, sandbox) by the time they quit if they last long enough.
Renaldo, you are not pretty bad, you stole 'my' trophee ;-)
Ah, I'm not a good player myself, but I didn't receive many complaints (aside from some individuals here and there) either. All in all I did okay too I think.
Yeah, although you can argue competitive players (especially competent ones) can read better for intent, I don't think that that trait is exclusive only to them.
A lot of really strong mods weren't regular competitive players. It helps to have familiarity with certain setups to understand what's going on a bit more, but generally it's pretty universal.
things vancy stood for: alienating members of the mod team, venting to jasper, modding people everyone disagreed with, having a grudge against my main man Dave hibiki strider
Ballsy, I do agree that mods should stick to the rules themselves during (and for a decent amount of time before) their modship.
I don't think things of 2 years ago has to stand in the way of becoming a mod if that person truly changed, but I think that a decent time before and especially during a modship a mod should simply abide by the rules.
I also still feel that mods should behave decently towards their fellow players, how can you complain about a 'toxic community' if you add fuel to the fire yourself?
