am i the only one who thinks that anonymous mods is a bad idea that would lead to more problems?

it would lead to community problems because of how wildly paranoid this userbase it, and because there are still so many people in positions of power on this site who view their power as a popularity thing, or want everyone to know how much power they have. there's really no other incentive to do the job unless you're predisposed towards civic obligation

what i'm really saying is that there's no reason lucid shouldnt just give his mods tokens or something because its like 20 dollars why the hell wouldnt you

no one really has crapped on retti for 2 years, bill.
the kino krew is currently going around trying to paint retti as a master manipulator who took advantage of her, and you're gonna tell me that no one craps on retti anymore

if this is true im feeling a bit betrayed that personal matters couldn't stay just as that and this has been spread into the public

i haven't done anything to slander kino, i overall think she's a good person who needs to figure out a bit more about herself before she ever tries to be in a relationship with someone

but this topic isn't meant for the forums

yeah, if it became a carrot-chasing seniority type thing it'd be a huge issue. it shouldn't be viewed as a promotion, but people would

that said it'd be nice to be able to say "these five people are gonna look at all appeals and cheating reports and that's that"

that's basically how it goes, only it's less official. Appeals usually aren't handled by new mods, at least not without the guidance of someone who has been there longer.

if my name is attached to it, you likely won't, but that's neither here nor there

a lot of people on this site are super idealistic about their own visions for it and hopefully they grow out of being so out of touch eventually

I think the last thing needed is more politics within the mod team. I liked the ideas of certain designated roles for specific mods, but the tiering could lead to power struggles and such. Wouldn't be worth it.

iirc it wasn't problematic.

im pretty sure laexio still did reports, but he was more interested in patrolling the forums.
he almost never did game reports iirc, except when things got bad (200 reports open at a time, for example), or when examples needed to be set. he helped more from behind the scenes. but idk, maybe im just remembering it wrong.

well he still did reports unlike arcbell who didnt even do reports when there were a mountain of them.

Yeah Bill, anything structural would have to go through Phil and my guess is that he has other priorities for the site when he decides to do work on it.

His vision of the site is a bit different from a lot of the people who post here, at least that's my vibe after working with the guy.
