for instance, players could focus on why they think a report was incorrect, rather than insisting it was because a mod with a personal grudge against them moderated it, or ignoring the point at hand entirely to prop up malicious slanderous sexual harassment allegations

Lady's right though, a lot depends on the climate. There were some days where I was annoyed at the site or unhappy and I wanted nothing to do with reports. Other days I would tear through them.

A lot depends on the chemistry of the team and how much you believe in their ability to succeed. It's tough going to work every day knowing you're on a sinking ship. It's a lot easier to focus on your work and enjoy doing it when things are going well.

Just doing reports wouldn't even take that much time :)

anon mods would seriously solve like 90% of the moderation issues with this site but the userbase's sense of entitlement would never allow it to happen

Some people would say so. Doing reports isn't that bad, it's dealing with a lot of the other stuff that gets to be a drain on you.

Yeah, I noticed that too, at the end it was no fun, no play, just 'work'. I already have a full time job, so when I got some personal issues I just couldn't set myself to modding anymore. I don't miss it so far. I play a few games here and there again and sometimes I just don't visit the site for a week. Aaaah.

@Apostasy, too busy modding to play mafia. I pretty much stopped playing altogether too as a mod, even more so as admin.

Slow, I'd just like the abridged version. Vancy's not even on the site so I don't see the point in making a master thread about him almost 2 weeks after he stepped down. It'll just turn into a poop on vancy fest, which isn't really worth doing. He's still a good person even if you didn't care for him as admin.

What I appreciated about Vancy is that I could always approach him when I disagreed with something and he was always open to discuss stuff.

And to go back to the turnover thing, Ucklar was the only mod who I worked with for the entire duration of both my terms as mod and admin. The mods on the team that were there at the end with Arcbell all left/got removed at some point. There's always going to be turnover when leadership changes.
