can we do this? gunsmith has been around for years and there has never been an objectively good gun setup, and thats because guns are horrible for competitive. Giving one person the ability to remove another from the game is a terrible idea for competitions and is ridiculously easy to throw games/troll with. Yeah, guns are fun but fun has never been the #1 priority for the competition and variety has never been a factor when deciding to ban the dozens of roles and setups that arent allowed to be made competitive.
Guns can stay in red hearts. All they do in competitive is serve to limit the amount of thinking required. They basically just function as a ML that the clear gets to hammer whenever he wants.

It's actually fairly easy in the main lobby and not a strong indicator of skill.
guns are not individual manipulation, if you try to manipulate someone who has a gun you just get shot. it no longer matters if you towntell up the wall and everyone townreads you, if someone scumreads you and they have a gun, you're dead. it's not safe to cc a pr, because if you cc a pr and that person has a gun then you're dead. its not even safe to fos anyone, because if you fos someone and that person has a gun then you're probably dead.
Seems like you don't know how to manipulate people with guns
Realistically, getting rid of guns completely will end up leading to a drop in the popularity of competitive mafia on the site and It'd end up getting difficult to attract new players to the competition.
agreed. it also doesn't matter

I won a gold (well, I self deleted to give it to drpepeper so I guess I didn't actually win it, but you get the point) by playing every game whispering everyone and only talking out loud to claim. And I literally only whispered people
Individual manipulation is 10000x more effective, like it or not. It just takes a lot more time, and you have to know how to react well to be convincing. It's a matter of effectiveness versus usability, you can't just say one is more important. Most of the games you'll be using a combination of both, first trying to convince everyone and then going specific once you start noticing who is going to hammer
not really. day-vig is a common role on other sites

because, kyle, anarchist detracts from competitiveness when guns don't
Yeah they do

if you dont think guns detract from competitiveness then you're wrong, plain and simple. they're swingy, easy to bend rules with and go against the SPIRIT OF MAFIA
