I believe that the motivations that she had then and the motivations that she has now are dramatically different and that there is no chance that, put in the same situations, she would do it again. Perhaps I am too willing to give people chances, but when someone shows me that no facet of her behavior points to a proclivity for harassing, provoking, or antagonizing other EM users, the logical conclusion for me is that she is not a threat.

I understand that I cannot possibly have the same perspective as the people who have had to deal with what she has done in the past. I know that she broke some bridges that will take a long time to repair, and some that she can probably never repair. But I don't think that she should be denied a chance at attempting to do so.

But I believe that after some reconsideration I would have come to the same conclusion: that she has reformed and is not a threat to anyone on this site.

I'm willing to reconsider her appointment to site moderator, however, if the entire community (read: more than just the vocal ~20 people that have been witch-hunting her) is against the decision that I made. I'm here to serve the community after all.

You're already making a mistake in labelling it as a witch hunt. Most of the complaints are of revisionism; labelling actions in the past as trolling. That is far from the case and I feel her gender is playing far too much of an influence into the side of the argument.

Most us want to know why these 5 years are 'trolling', especially when it involves off site harassment, mod account exploitation and more. Having someone call it as fake is insulting.

Also the fact y'all are too busy covering for her rather than letting her speak and making her own decision is really telling. The community deserves both an apology and explanation, but God if I live long enough to see that.

I think it'd be a different conversation if she admitted to saying those things and owned up to how she acted in the past but the most telling part of this is probably her outright denying it and trying to play it off like everyone was lying despite there being logs showing otherwise
