Yeah my opinion deteriorated as more episodes aired. Most of the new characters introduced feel totally extraneous, even if they end up being plot-relevant. They clearly overestimated their ability to introduce and develop a huge cast of new characters in a way that made any sense.

I didn't really mind the part you're referring to but from a narrative perspective, it was definitely danganronpa-tier in stupidity. Despair side has more going for it but I'm disappointed in the lack of screentime the characters actually get (not that they could really help that) and there's still a ton of blatant stupidity in individual scenes that permeates both sides.

Still following it because I do want to see the conclusion, of course. I just think, after a long time not actually playing Danganronpa, I forgot what my expectations should be.

There's some cleverness in both sides, and decent comedy, but yeah.

I'm enjoying it! A little disappointed with the pacing so far but many of the actual scenes and gags are great, and I imagine they paced it that way because there's a lot that needs to happen in the next episodes. I had mixed feelings on Nanami's role as an actual student at first but I've come to terms with them haha. I still adore the character.

And so far, the plot of Side Future has been swell. I'm eager to see how the stories fit in together.
