is the R word a "slur" against? I'm failing to comprehend how a word can universally be a slur without the definition or origin of the word being derogatory.

I'm failing to see why I have 2 violations for a word I was using in context of it's definition:

It's time to move EpicMafia to tumblr.

there will probably never be a world where nobody says the forbidden R word but it's also really stupid to assume that the people who don't are simply tumblr sjw's or bleeding heart liberals
I'm against and I'm antiTumblr and slightly right wing =)

the marginal difference between people who use the r-word and people who dont isn't very slight but i'd very much side with the people who have less of an issue of omitting one word out of their vocabulary for the sake of moral decency over people who continually use it despite the connotation behind it (and how easy it is just say something else in replace of it)
You're forcing this on people with the excuse of protecting our imaginary R-worded friends as if the word only has one definition and that definition is universally offensive.

Okay Rutab, go find us an example where the R word is used as a slur and not in the literal sense of the definition posted in the OP.
Dude, it's not even the literal meaning. The literal meaning carries a connotation on its back. It's like baggage you can't get rid of.

okay from now on i'll be reporting people who say the word crazy, crazy is a word linked to mental illness. My mom is a nurse in a mental hospital and she tells me not to call her patients crazy, but instead call them mentally ill. So from now on no one on epicmafia is allowed to call other users "Crazy" in games because it's offensive to people with mental disabilities.

See how crazy that sounds?

Honestly the way I am reading all of this, it seems like everything is just going in circles. That's going to lead to 0 change in the HC rule, because it will end up being contextual.

The issue with people fighting for it, is that they keep using literal definitions for words like "idiot" and "stupid" which is stupid in itself. It's stupid because they're fighting for the contextual use of "R"."

The issue with people fighting against it, is that some people may have just grown into the "life style" of using such words without consequence. There is little to no leg room for people to try to adapt to a lesser vocabulary (when I guess they should be growing their vocabulary away from slurs).

I stated my opinion and input on page one of Retti's "Community Project" thread. I honestly don't think anything could or will change. I'm in favor of being harsher against slurs, and I feel like it's worth a few people expanding vocabulary and working around violations to not make someone uncomfortable.

but literally nobody cares, like that was the premise

excluding reclaiming, use of words in environments where no one cares normalises them, which influences people to use them in premises where people do care
your use of "normalises" triggers me. I am not a normal and I don't want to hear that word.

there's nothing to prevent someone who does care from joining the site. that's the whole fricking point
It offends me when people say they fos me. Can we ban fossing people?
is fos a slur?

i was being literal. you asked and i answered. i was joking, and i still understood your point

7:45PM GMT, on Friday 19 June 2015. At this time, you had two HC violations
Yes because the rule doesn't state there's a blanket ban on words. I also thought Pranay didn't get a violation because he wasn't specifically targeting someone to be offensive, a change you can see in my first and second violation.
