Okay so, I officially committed to a college today. I'll be going there in the fall. A majority of my knowledge about college comes from stuff that I've seen in TV shows, movies and have heard from random people. For those of you who are actually enrolled in a university right now, how is it like and what should I expect?

I was getting all sorts of free drugs during the second half of the first semester of this year because I got to be really good friends with the kid dealing, but then he failed out of college as drug dealers seem to do. There's a lesson to be learned there, somewhere.
We got cases of Miller High Life and Lokos hahah. but I got wise and started making vodka gummy bears for the weekend so that I could pregame. oh if you do go to parties, the parties are usually 5 bucks for a red cup but you can keep that cup all night and it is unlimited refills at the keg/cooler. Drink the jungle juice and use a gravity bong lol.
Frats are expensive so think cautiously if you want to join them.
I took my PS2 Freshman year and I never played it lmao. But we did have game rooms. Just make sure you make plenty of connections and socialize. OH STAY AWAY FROM NATTY ICE. It's gross but it is the beer of frat boys alike lol
I'm considering bringing my Nintendo 64, a copy of Mario Party/Smash Bros and leaving my dorm room open so that people can play it with me to make friends at first.
Dont be that guy
my campus has a game-room where people play ssb anyway

This is all really sound advice, thank you guys! I'll be going in as a professional writing major, and I feel slightly okay with that because I currently have a job as a freelance writer and I also would have a job at the writing center going right into college most likely. There are also some really cool internship opportunities. It basically seems like an English degree but with actual job security because you can choose a niche.
I'm definitely a shy person, but I'm gonna try to make friends in my freshman year and hopefully find likeminded people. I've hit it off quite well with the people that I met on the tour, but they were all seniors.

It'll also be awesome because I'll be able to visit Nicole over the weekends and even during the week. I can even go to Broadway for cheap!
I'm pretty excited, tbh. I do care about my academic success but I'm also interested in making sure I don't mess up the social aspect.
telling projectmatt to not be an introvert in college

the dorms are hell but the kind of hell you love. exaggerate how outgoing you are especially the first week. Try to leave your door open whenever you're in your room during that first week. Be open, friendly, and just enjoy it! If you're willing to make the first move meeting new people then you will love college. Also anyone saying anything to an incoming freshman about being there for your academics only are kinda ridiculous. The first two years of college were an absolute joke tbh and I only spent Sundays-Wednesdays really focusing on academics. The free time you have is unreal. I played a sport that had 0 days off while in season, got my school work done, and still went out and did complete fuckery on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. You'd have to be really to yourself and standoffish to not meet people in college.
tldr: don't be an introvert the first year of college is all social and finding yourself and who you really are.
