Unfortunately, Google decided to shut down the Adsense anyhow. I've asked for an appeal, but if they do not reply by the end of the month, I will be shutting down the site. Thanks for the good times, but I suppose it's time for me to move on.

I hope lucid did ask what GOOGLE exactly wants and where the problem is in the appeal so we can get rid of the problem in first place. If they don't give a logical answer it means they don't give a flying shit about us

My first rational thought was why not just set it up as a donation scheme? Or we could just encourage people to buy assloads of tokens monthly. I'm game, and I'm sure a whole bunch of other people would be willing. I'm no webserver pro, but I can't imagine that this site costs much more than $1k to run a month, and I'm absolutely confident we could get that much money out of donations alone.

At the same time, if we want the appeal to be successful, we need to start cleaning up the website immediately. Like, ultimate rule crackdown of ultimate proportions. Now. Now now. Immediately now.

This kind of negativity and insult is probably one of the reasons he isn't motivated to keep the site beyond attempting to appeal to google.

The traffic to this website would decline immediately, but would rebuild itself. Plus you have the added benefit of not losing the website.


Instead you recieve less income on a server plan that probably can't be reduced to match the reduction in finance as these things are done by contract.

It doesn't solve anything long term, which is where the important factor is.


I think right now our #1 focus is on how to "not lose Adsense ads" rather than something long term. Eventually a compromise will have to be made. Either Lucid accepts less revenue to start with (remember, we have no way to gauge right now what that figure is in the first place), or Lucid shuts down the site if it's not a viable option for him in the long run.

Any options that are not how EM is run on today are a lose/lose situation. There's nothing that will match the effectiveness of the google ads as they are right now. Believing we will find an equivalent alternative is naive and not realistic at all because some loss is inevitable no matter which path you take. The best we can do is aim to regain the equivalent in the future.
