This is a dedicated thread for users to bounce around and brainstorm on ideas for new roles, items, game mechanics or anything else to improve and build upon our beloved Mafia game.

Back in 2015 Sims made a thread asking if anyone had any ideas for roles since Lucid was looking to make some new ones (found here: https://epicmafia.com/topic/71173?page=1) That thread's dead now, but it's always good to try to bring the community together and come up with new stuff for the game.

Some of you might know my reputation for designing new roles and my passion for Mafia. EpicMafia is a pretty cool website and can always use some new stuff to spice up and remix the usual game formula, and I know a few of you have ideas of your own.

Toreador is so anti-mafia that it faces to the right.

toreador is a good, useful role, just not meant to be in a closed roles setup

Nah I was talking about everyone freaking out over the classic and muskratte icons being removed. Stuff like the Toreador sprite is okay.

A few things on knives:

Since they appear on roles such as the Samurai, maybe generalizing and changing the name to blades would be a good idea.

Also, looking back at the first comments on the Cutler, a deleted user suggested that giving a knife (or blade?) to a Traitor would convert them to Killer, and Simurgh30 suggested that giving a knife to a Fool should kill them. I like both of these ideas and would enjoy seeing them implemented.

TBH can we have a feature in-game where we can see what our role does. It's annoying having to go to the Learn tab to find out role. I think this would ease the concerns of people unhappy with the new role icons. I think just hovering over our role and a description popping up will do.

every time someone's role is revealed including your own, it says "[You are/name is] a [role]"

it's as simple as adding a log to the "reveal" event

The Guider

- sided with town

- at night, chooses someone

- if that person has a night action, they can peform it again during the day

- so for example if they guide a gs night 1, gs can give out 3 guns by the end of night 2 (guider could message them and ask for 1 of those guns in return)

- makes maf killing guider a priority, but guider can also accidentally guide mafia

- mafia can fakeclaim something to the guider to get free kills

Gambler (revision)
- Each day, picks a player to gamble at night
- Both players will pick rock, paper, or scissors in separate meetings
- The loser dies the next day unless there is a tie
- Wins after 2 successful gambits
- Third party

Duelist (revision)
- Each day challenges a player to a duel at sunset
- They will both receive a gun and learn eachother's name at night
- The guns will be anonymous and miss anyone except the participants
- The loser's will won't be revealed
- Wins after 3 victories
- Sided with third party
