Nah. We just need to tell people that being poor in America is the new first class. Because having a Lexus style college education is what life is about.
Okay, nice strawman argument (not lol, you're an idiot, there's some ad hom) but that's not at all the point. That cutoff is Set. In. Stone. Imagine your income is 100,000 on paper but you have tons of debt, or the housing market just crashed or whatever. You're screwed. The kid with poor parents will get a full ride, but the kid with 100,000+ up parents will have to find the money themselves. The Department of Education is a JOKE. Of course the kids with poor parents deserve to college without forking out thousands and thousands of their own money. Everyone does.
Higher property tax than most 100,000 dollar families? Sorry, you're F*'d, find the money. Lots of children? Sorry. mortgage? Sucks for you. Debt? Too bad.
If your parents make over 100,000 dollars but have 5+ kids, not one of those kids gets financial aid. The 100,000 cutoff or whatever it is is set in stone, regardless of circumstance. There's all sorts of things like that. The Department of Education is a humongous bureaucratic joke.
Yeah, your parents being poor is a good thing in the states the moment you turn 18 as far as college is concerned, and I'd be happy to debate it with you.
The funniest thing white moms do is post on Facebook together
"Ha, ha, Jan! That was so hilarious! Say hello to John and the kids for me!"
"Of course, Denise! I am happy that gave you a laugh! I will tell everyone you said hi! We should get together some time and catch up! Maybe we'll have some margheritas? ;-)"
Right but getting in isn't the same as paying for it. As far as college in the states goes, being poor is a good thing. And if you have scholarships too, you're set for the duration.
You have brains. You have scholarships AND endless financial aid if you are poor to look forward to, man. Worry not. You probably won't even have to work in college.
