Corruption says AdachiSan says Wrong. Mexican food has indigenous origins. Most of the corn based with rice and beans is genuine Mexican food. Stuff like Nachos/Quesadilla whatever are Tex Mex. Mexico didn't even have dairy until the 1400s.

Tex Mex and cheap Mexican food are entirely different things. Tex Mex foods are developed after Texas/ New Mexico become part of the USA. They are not Mexican.
