You guys realize that the reason those funds exist is to help fund trailblazers who will put their family into an education environment where their kids and families can succeed.
Yeah. If you can't afford college for your kids stop shooting out the sixth one. You should be able to figure out you're having trouble by the first five.
Yeah, your parents being poor in the states is a good thing the moment you're 18, because you're an adult now but you either have it good or bad based on your parents income. Fact.
I don't think he's trying to say poor people have it good lol
"Yeah, your parents being poor is a good thing in the states the moment you turn 18 as far as college is concerned, and I'd be happy to debate it with you." - AdachiSan
I feel a lot worse for the poor kids trying to get a college education than the $100,000 income parents with a bajillion kids tbh.
Okay, but that poor kid has a college education. Paid for, the government has got them. However, I'm an adult now and my parents aren't going to give me a dime. The government also won't give me a dime, because according to them my parents are supposed to pay it. So it's not getting paid by anyone but me, whether my parents have money or not.

why aren't you sympathetic towards someone who's trying to nourish multiple lives with a limited amount of income

So in reality you're a poor kid that got abused by the system and no one is here to give you a break.
If I'm using a strawman, I'm using the strawman you presented. Over $100,000 and 5+ children. Do you even know what the median income in the US is or the median number of children? Clearly not. Because you're referencing an outlier all the way in the benches of Fenway Park.
I'm referencing my own situation, in which I am ultimately paying the entirety of my tuition myself, because my parents won't and my government won't and I don't want loans.
Yeah FYI, SOnseray's scenario is 100% correct, from personal experience
I am in the ~100,000 ish range for my family, and my girlfriend's family is poor
She's going to the same university as me
I am still paying normal tuition with barely any federal help but she's going to pay minimal to no tuition to go to school here
I am not saying it's right or wrong, I am just saying that's what's happening

News flash ftard: Just because your parents make over 100,000 dollars does not mean you have ANY more money than that poor kid. Some parents have other kids, and adults are expected to find their own way. But guess what? While your parents might consider you an adult, your government doesn't, and you're penalized by your parents income. Fair? No.
