Comp is so bad right now, its actually just funny. Theres nothing else to it. It's simply funny how bad it is. I think its time you all realize this. The sooner you accept that, the quicker we can fix it. Because games are just s'hit. They are played like reds and no one cares about throws/meta abuse/ect anymore and these are suppose to be competitive games. Mods are forgiving 'bad play' reports more now than ever. I saw a gt alt with 18-50 record. it takes actual skill to reach that level as a gt alt and not be banned by now. He srsly must have some top tier main outplaying mods with dumbtells
I'm writing to request we split the lobbies: Competitive/Casual.
We need a comp atmosphere to have a competition. Moderation of comp lobby should be harsher too. Trust me on this. Tables are so s'hit. Players have no clue what they're doing. Go with me here. I used to play competitive CPL cs1.6. Google 'vilden mage' and you'll find me. I know a casual game vs a competition. Merged lobbies ruined the comp aspect I used to rly enjoy
All you have to do now is ask lucid to do it. Keep asking until he does it.
Just do it.
Examples of a 'competitive' games in the current lobby
Froce and OohashiAkko overthrow him to lynch a town
They blame others in post game when they lose
There are so many terrible players like this that it isn't a competition it's like a r'etard magnet filled with trolls, gt'ers, and idiots. A lobby exclusive to comp players will intimidate players in such a way that they worry more about their own improvement and gameplay. When you have such a casual, s'hitty lobby, it facilitates players who arent playing to win or COMPETE as they should be
This is going to come off patronizing but please hear me out on why I don't agree with this.
I think a lot of people getting better over time means they're more aware of current problems than they were in the past.
You've given your anecdotal "I was there and saw this" and I can too. I was a 57%er in 2010, I was a 57%er in 2011, I've been fully competent the whole way through from before the split, during the split, to after the split. If anything the average gold heart player has gotten better.
You will always think that the time in which you were learning the game had better players, simply because you were incapable of perceiving skill as accurately at the time.
Even now I look back at Veiexku and want to think "Yeah he was soooooo good" because he was so dominant in 2010, but he could barely maintain 55% in 2012. The reason is simply that he taught me how to play the game and was the one who brought me up to par-you need to get past someone to be able to realize they're worse than you thought.

i tried reiterating your points empire and he just called me a casual
vilden, the problem with your argument is that you are under the assumption that a comp lobby will leave out "bad" players but, as many have pointed out, there's no actual way to filter them out. plus if you really have any recollection of the "golden age" comp lobby, you'd remember that there was still a great deal of people trying to avoid bad players (popular example: maymay)
if it comes back ill play again, but i dont want to play again. lol

i remember and played in the old comp lobby, vilden, can my opinion hold water under your great omniscient eye?

We were investigated, that's number one. Number two, it's funny how every single person that called me a cheater didn't play a single game with me that entire round. They looked at the numbers and just assumed it was cheating instead of going through the games. It's not that hard to go through our games and ISO read us, but hey, if you wanna keep looking like an idiot, feel free
Ideal its funny you should comment in here cuz comp lost so much of its value when you and jeff were allowed 4 of the top 5 positions of a round with no investigation into your cheating

why would we even have a competitive lobby? apparently every good player is either a cheater or a meta abuser ROFL
anyways final thought because i've largely been shitposting: i was pro-merge back when it happened, and i think that splitting the lobbies would reduce the quantity of players, which eventually would reduce the quality of gameplay. so longterm i don't believe it would be a successful venture
Not frustrated about better maf games. More that there's a circlejerk in here who aren't active competitive players that are pushing against an idea coming from one active player.
guys i don't think anyone realized but in the op vilden humblebragged about his history as a competitive gamer as if it had any pertinence to his argument about splitting the lobbies

I'm going to leave and go to bed now, so here are my final remarks
vilden, I understand how frustrated you are because you just want to play better mafia games, but trust me, this isn't the way it's going to happen
I even made almost an identical thread not that long ago (year or more??) and it turned out similarly to this one. I was wrong and they proved me wrong, just like they're doing to you in this thread
I can't imagine any scenario in which a lobby split legitimately satisfies what everyone is looking for while continuing to grow the support from the community
No one is drawn to the competitive game as much as mindless red heart games where you guess, and there's nothing wrong with that. People just come here to have fun and everyone has different ideas of what fun is. It's just that, right now, the competitive fun is the minority to the red heart fun
Goodnight guys

competitive isnt even pinned anymo, so you can technically see it as "custom"
i really doubt lucid will take away a custom lobby from someone w/o good reason
But if Im a new user I will only see Main Sandbox and Games by default right?
