i'm curious to see how the community feels about diagnosing yourself at home, whether it'd be mental illness(or lack of mental illness) or physical stuff. i personally think it's a terrible idea, and i also think pointing that out isn't wrong.
@ Me Next Time, Thanks. The Only Reason I'm Self-Diagnosing Is Because I *Have No Other Option*. I'm A Minor In An Abusive Home And I Don't Exactly Have Access To A Psych -
I've Done As Much Research As I Can, I've Talked To Others Who Are Professionally Diagnosed, And They've Told Me I Do Have It.
I Don't Believe Some -Pull Like "I get a little bit nervous when I take tests.... So that means I have severe anxiety."
I self diagnosed myself with a caffeine addiction, but its probably cuz I just love coffee, maybe I should see someone to find out...
I remember once a friend of mine who was on ~7 cups a day tried to go cold turkey on caffeine. He said the splitting headaches were bearable if you took 3 Advil every 6 hours, but not being able to sleep because of the night terrors is what convinced him to start drinking again.
See I don't see a reason to stop drinking coffee, sounds horrible tho, guess I won't stop ever ^_^
I think he mostly tried to stop out of curiosity, just to see what the effects on his body would be. The same guy also made bootleg fireworks and attempted to make cocaine just to see if he could.
hedger has much bigger problems since he's a literal cat

Worse than that is what it does to your bowels. Considering caffeine is a stimulant laxative you can only imagine what quitting it does to you in the bathroom.

We live in a society where "look it up online" is a norm. People (at least those self-diagnosing themselves with mental illnesses), should check with the actual diagnostic materials such as the DSM or ICD, rather than doing a quick google search. But to be fair its not their fault, they're brought up to think this way.
Teenagers who diagnose themselves with mental disorders when their actual condition is just "being a hormonal teenager" are a part of the reason mental illness is viewed in such skeptic/dismissive terms by the general public. So seriously, screw those people.

the real problem people should be working to solve is internet couples who flirt on public forums instead of private messages
