i'm curious to see how the community feels about diagnosing yourself at home, whether it'd be mental illness(or lack of mental illness) or physical stuff. i personally think it's a terrible idea, and i also think pointing that out isn't wrong.
Bears do not hibernate nearly that deeply, but their body temperatures do fall and metabolism slows down quite a bit. In this state, bears can go up to 6 months without food and water, and without needing to use the restroom.
Bears do it by burning off about a pound of fat a day. A pound of fat contains 3,500 calories. The process of burning the fat also creates water. Bears then recycle the nitrogen in their urine to create protein. When they come out of hibernation, bears are much lighter and very hungry, but they have lost no muscle mass.
Bears don't hibernate they go into a deep sleep called torpor!

What mental illness? Just rub one off and you'll be fine.

the irony here is that america encourages self-diagnosis. person thinks they have xyz disease, goes to doctor, doctor gives medicine that might treat said disease.
it's all fueled by consumption. you assume you need treatment, because you've seen people who are sick and can relate. ok, lets take xyz medication, b.c on the commercials that's one of the reasons to take it! so i'll take it, because i think that may be what's wrong with me.
no, what's wrong with you is that you consume and assume that that will solve your problems.
take a step back, breathe, and relax. you're being brainwashed by a corporate culture that feeds off you being a consumer. you are being absorbed into a system that has you drinking tons of coffee, alcohol, and soda to deal with your emotional state, and then eating terrible, unhealthy food to repeat the cycle, since the other medicine didn't work out. now we've decided to change our own identities, because we can't even figure out what's naturally true to us. you have become that obsessed with materialistic identification; you can't even identify as yourself, but instead a term that fits you into a nice little subcultural group you found online or in a club.
step outside of the consumer culture, and regain your individual identity. take off the sheep's wool and remove the pipe that's sucking your money out of your a** while pumping garbage consumption down your throat.
tl;dr? if you have a mental illness, you might want to wake up from the coma your brainwash-fueled consumption habits have put you in, and then go check with a doctor if you have actual problems. ask them for a natural, healthy solution. no pill will cure-all your emotions and misplaced sense of existence - only experience from actual living will.
