Since the New Roles thread has become overwhelmed with self-advertising, I think a poll would encourage more discussion. I'm using a list I was given for the options in the poll, so sorry in advance if your role isn't on there.

what's the point of having them? if people like it so much, custom roles are allowed in sandbox. if they want to play ranked go to a custom lobby

oh well i was wrong about ranked but they're useless anyways...
Moonlight, for illu, the person would need a gun, for sabo (who uses sabo anyway) the selected person would need an item.. for yak well that would be mafsided anyway, guiser/janitor would need to be on a dead person, and guiser like that would be fun in my oppinion. Tailor/forger usually have another meeting that goes with it to select what the forge/suit is so that would not work at all. So you only have 5 roles that are dead giveaways? i mean, it would suck if you were one of those roles but it would also suck if someone journed/det those roles and it would still turn out the same way... (and it would be more fun too, accidentally poisoning mafia/ actress on mafia and looking like mafia on death/ whatever) And the fact that you can use a mafia's action is kinda why this role sounds so fun..

Anyway, monkey mechanic should looks like this: Step 1. Monkey converts himself into monkey see target Step 2. The monkey now visits the monkey do target, does what monkey see target does Step 3. The monkey now converts into a monkey But this way we have the mutiplevisit problem ... and surgeon this mechanic. Not to mention the type of visit ( normal visit/ backdoor visit/ninja type ...), so we may use a list of role block. Anyway this way.
The other way is when monkey also role block the monkey see target. This way monkey is used as a reverse driver, instead of changing the one who is going to be visited, we change the one who is going to visit them. Tracker and watcher will see the monkey doing every job ... Oh wait we also have to drive one more time due to the "monkey do" meeting. Yeah, this way is still lol
yeah Mist and Ultra, ur right ... Well may be turn this role into a 3rd ??

those roles, the "useless" cops in particular, are used in main lobby...................

the only maf roles that give a mafia specific system message to the player themselves are stalker, actress, & janitor (only if you target a kill from that night). it is pretty powerful for the monkey to be able to imitate these but in actual setups this can be planned for and in sandbox i think it's just a unique mechanic.
although actress has an action that affects herself so imitating her might not work...
I think monkey should be able to do nothing if he monkey see maf, cause many of the maf roles are unique with no town counterpart, or have obvious message ( silencer blinder illusionis saboteur yakuza guiser actress tailor janitor forger stalker poisoner ... ) which gives town a huge advantage. Sure you want to add this role in a specific setup, but I'm sure Croned and Lucid wanted to make this a fun role.
monkey performing the action is the entire point of the role, it's the whole unique mechanic that isn't just toreader/driver all over again
if you want to add chauffer im totally cool with that [2] but it's not the same role

but monkey does the action himself and roleblocks the one on the meeting monkey see, wouldnt it be better REDIRECTING what the monkey see meeting person does to the monkey do instead of monkey doing it since that will break things (just like a one way driver but town sided)
