Hi. Recently, I've felt that our current rules do not fit the current meta and playerbase, and are outdated in many aspects. I've been thinking about rewriting them in full, but I figured that a more open approach would allow for everyone to be more content if such a thing happened. I want to use this thread to talk about discrepancies in the system and how to appropriately fix or address them. I believe that the rules are not accessible enough based on website design alone and how they are handled. This leads to a lot of complaints that could be thinned down if people came together and defined the rules in such a way that can make everyone (mostly) happy. I want to use this thread as a placeholder and for people to be critical as much as they please with aspects of the report system also, and how we as a team could possibly improve it or get lucid to notice that it is in need of an overhaul. It's a very daunting task, but I want to believe that the people who spend their time in the complaints section, constantly riding on mods or problems with the site, finally will put their money with their mouth is.
The goal of this thread is to hopefully allow new and old users thoroughly understand the rules more clearly so the amount of reports diminishes and people have a more enjoyable experience.
well, retti called for a community project with community input and a member of the community (me) made a contribution that retti ignored. amazing!

I'm on board with shortening the rules or doing what AMime suggested with the whole 'seperate page that summarizes the rules.' Now it's just a matter of getting the rest of my team on board instead of looking like I'm making all the shots.
not a single one of them has made a significant contribution to this thread (they should really keep in mind that they are still part of the community, and not somehow above it) and that really says a lot.
i think slow said something a few pages ago
mod aren't allowed to not talk in this thread within 6 hours of its publication
there's already a lot of casual "mentoring" in unranked games. that's pretty much how this site maintains 90% of new players. just expand on that, make it more stable
and i agree with devante, we only need a light amount of mentoring for new players. (there is a time and place for more advanced mentoring, but it's not really an issue)
Uprizzle sometimes runs on CnS. He got 4th one round
well he's pretty much inactive in main lobby now. point still stands, none of the mentors are doing much mentoring.

I misread the new players part. Though he signed up to work on advanced players
advanced players don't need mentors and that's the biggest joke i've ever heard.
Mentoring is like riding a bike, you need help from your mom/dad when you have training wheels on, once you can ride by yourself your mom will take the training wheels off, but she'll slowly follow behind you until letting you go by yourself without you noticing then you see you're really riding the bike yourself. After a while you teach yourself cool tricks on the bike like riding with 1 hand, and riding with 0 hands (something I never was able to do in my childhood sadly)
well hedger doesn't really have that anyway. his mentees consist of a two sandboxers (Uprizzle & Harunan), one inactive (LadyNemesis), and two semi/rarely active (myself & Sincerely) and i wouldn't say i'm inexperienced anymore.
also interesting to note; 3 former mods and 3 homestuck avis.

Anthony still is showing up
since you cannot read.
"have at least 2 mentees that are inexperienced players and don't actually need mentors or are new players who have played a game of mafia in the last month. "
it's safe to say there is no mentor program so just wipe it completely or fix it

Mentors who are currently have at least 2 mentees that are not experienced players and don't actually need mentors or are new players who have played a game of mafia in the last month. Or actually still log into mafia themselves (the mentor):
