Hi. Recently, I've felt that our current rules do not fit the current meta and playerbase, and are outdated in many aspects. I've been thinking about rewriting them in full, but I figured that a more open approach would allow for everyone to be more content if such a thing happened. I want to use this thread to talk about discrepancies in the system and how to appropriately fix or address them. I believe that the rules are not accessible enough based on website design alone and how they are handled. This leads to a lot of complaints that could be thinned down if people came together and defined the rules in such a way that can make everyone (mostly) happy. I want to use this thread as a placeholder and for people to be critical as much as they please with aspects of the report system also, and how we as a team could possibly improve it or get lucid to notice that it is in need of an overhaul. It's a very daunting task, but I want to believe that the people who spend their time in the complaints section, constantly riding on mods or problems with the site, finally will put their money with their mouth is.

The goal of this thread is to hopefully allow new and old users thoroughly understand the rules more clearly so the amount of reports diminishes and people have a more enjoyable experience.

unoffical mentoring is far more effective and efficient than "official epicmafia mentoring"

Also, Sims, it appears you are too scared to get in the ring.

Sims says

mentoring only works for people who are serious about getting better, which not too many are

no that's not true, why do you think that? if you care to look at the mentor signup thread there's a lot of comments about wanting to improve

Mentoring doesn't and won't work because you can't teach a Mafia_101 class.

That's mainly because the current mentor system is total dump.

fixing the mentor program isn't really going to fix anything in the long run

yes, because improving newer players will fix nothing. Thank you, mentor who thinks the mentor program is useless

they can see the red heart game from their mentee's perspective, and talk to them

honest q what powers do mentors have again? they can spectate games together or what?

apparently they can spectate red heart games as they happen if a mentee is in it but i've never actually seen that put into practice so idk if it works or is even actually a thing.

i volunteered to mentor like a year ago and never heard anything back.

so did Shivv, so did I a year and bit ago, whenever actual players who have a proper grasp of the game ask to be mentors they are ignored it's pretty funny

the mentor system has been so screwed up, it took me three times asking someone to get transferred from jackhammer to hedger

it really shouldnt rest on an admin's shoulders anymore

none of them are except for like itg and him being a mentor is still something i'll never understand.
