Homophobic Abuse Of Mod Power

This image has been approved by the previous admin (bronto) and it was no vio'd and approved in at least 5 reports in the last 3 months. It was removed with no reason given by "oliver". I told him that it was already approved, and I reploaded it. He then banned me for 24 hours and removed it again. He said the precedent has changed because this time they reverse image searched it and naked pictures came up. SO?! I'm not using those pictures. I've been using THAT one. The censored one that shows nothing.

If Google was going to take down Epic Mafia over a censored picture they would have done it in the 3 months that it's been my avatar. This is clearly an attack on me and my sexual orientation. Nobody would know these men were nude below the waist unless they reverse image searched it. And why would they do that, unless they WANTED to see them naked? You literally had to SEARCH for a way to give me a violation. oliver and gennehfarrxD should be reprimanded and my ban should be lifted, as well as my violation. This is a clear abuse of power and it's a personal attack against me and my sexual orientation.

After skimming through all this I'm still not sure if this is a mod who is slightly homophobic, or a mod who is overly worried about potential "offensive" things. Either way would be pretty stupid.

I didn't repload it to cause controversy. I reuploaded it (one time) because I literally thought this had already been taken care of three months ago by the admin and that oliver would be told off by the rest of the mods for making a mistake. Instead, he 24 hour bans me and genneh swoops in before anyone can say anything in my appeal and sustains it.

I'm unsure where you assume that I am not stepping up about the situation. I'd rather remain professional and post my opinion than trying to make the team look bad. I've already said that I've brought it up to discussion and that's all you need to know for now.

I feel the need to chime in on this one. Since the rule states that for an avatar to be deleted, it must have "pornographic content or be highly offensive", I think that the avatar should be allowed to stay. It isn't or highly offensive.

However, I personally do not think that it's the best choice of avatar on a site like this. Why put up any type of slightly provocative photos (I don't care if it's men or women) in the first place as your avatar? I just can't help but feel like this was done to stir up controversy about homophobia, but in general I don't think that it's super appropriate on a gaming site which has many younger users.

Yeah, I definitely agree that the avatar should be allowed because it does not break the rules. But again, I wonder why people feel the need to post these type of photos on a site like this. Why can't we all just be adorable like me?

Also MikeyRu, you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. Aka it is probably smarter to stop pulling the "homophobia" card at every little thing and on the contrary, you can use your publicity as a gay figure on this site to serve as a mentor to younger, gay teenagers on EM.

Personally, I have spoken with a number of EM users and I feel proud that I have opened up their eyes on certain gay issues and/or served as a "confidante" to users who are struggling with their own sexuality. Take this opportunity and use it for good, not wasting energy on relatively petty battles.

I want to keep my original avatar because of the principle of it, ediz. Changing it to something else, like I'm doing currently because I don't want to be a noavi, just sends the message that there was something wrong with the original avatar. And there wasn't.
