Politics General

almost 6 years

Since some users dislike the political discussions on the Sandbox lobby wall, I’ve decided to make a serious thread where people can discuss political issues/tangentially-related discourse.

Please keep name-calling to a minimum and remember that site rules still apply. While this “debate” is not technically “moderated,” I reserve the right to mute anyone who decides to make this thread all about Jamal or Neanderthals or whatever.

Please just try to use this space to contain conversations that are otherwise derailing in other places.

even if its 50/50 men still have more power than women

explain why it is so, women have all, if not more, rights than men. why is it that men have sooooo much more power than women, you say?

Do I need to take baby steps now?

Would you say that men have any say in one's abortive rights? Would you say the same conversely for women?

Would you say that men have any vote weight on setting their newborn child up for adoption? Would you say that would answer would be the same for women?

Would you say that most men in the US have had circumcisions in infancy? Would you say the same about women?

census.gov/popclock. Nearly 50% are men and 50% are women. Everyone over the age of 18 (still evenly split) is able to vote.

um thanks for correcting my innacuracies i guess ??? but again you're missing my point. i kinda agreed with the original point you were trying to make, that there's no true right for humans to do anything as they please, and i don't think that any right some certainty of nature, it's all concepts we created and eventually put some into laws. it's just fcking pointless to bring it up in the first place when no one's thinking that like property rights or something is a natural right or some similar stupid sh?t. sometimes people have to move elsewhere to better their situation. how's going WELL TECHNICALLY gonna help them or whatever the situation is that made them leave?

My point is that because humans cannot prove their natural rights to some things yet still claim them by using force, there is no point where humans can't claim a right to something and be unable to defend their position.

I also don't necessarily agree that we don't have natural rights to certain things, I'm just pointing out that constructed rights (for which we have many) are pointless to debate because they lack basis in reality. Hence why I disagree with any kind of debate about immigration: it misses the point that in the modern day the vast majority of immigration contributes to urbanization or otherwise fails to improve opportunity costs, and urbanization specifically contributes to destroying the environment, which is the most important problem to date. This ties into the primitivism problem which I also brought up.

If this nonsense is what passes for “debate” on college campuses, which I assume most of you attend, this country is in for some woes. Steelix, who has acted like an adult amid all the infantile poop throwing, is obviously excused from this.

Imagine attending college lol #mycountrycanhardlyaffordaneducationsystem

there are such thing as scholarships (which are given if you appear to be a good asset to the school). Try going for one of them instead of complaining.

wasnt complaining tbh lol

omg i see those in the ads on my youtube app and i wish ever so quickly to pass those 5 painful seconds. although that does spread some truth, it just conveys it in a way that i really hate, it puts blame where it is everyone's fault in some way.

okay, for one, that is hard for my brain to read. 2, I believe in reciprocity where I should only be allowed to do unto others as I would allow to do to myself.

1.) Supporting detail, haven't heard any personal experiences from you guys to parallel that of my argument in order to try to prove your theories right.

As I have said before, the common direction of arguments making bad out of our society is "it exists everywhere, anywhere, somewhere, by somebody, many people". Well this entity never appears to have made an impact on any of your lives, so you guys have no ground to walk on. I, on the other hand, give an anecdotal truth that is in support of my conclusion.
