Since some users dislike the political discussions on the Sandbox lobby wall, I’ve decided to make a serious thread where people can discuss political issues/tangentially-related discourse.
Please keep name-calling to a minimum and remember that site rules still apply. While this “debate” is not technically “moderated,” I reserve the right to mute anyone who decides to make this thread all about Jamal or Neanderthals or whatever.
Please just try to use this space to contain conversations that are otherwise derailing in other places.

Honestly, Bernie Sanders is a good person, but his ideas for making college free is a crappy idea. Like, does he think that colleges don't run on money to make everything happen?
Hillary "Find my Emails and you're dead" Clinton and Bernie "white nutsack hairs head" Sanders are probably the worst candidates the democrats could have chosen. This is why Trump breezed into presidency without even worrying for a second.
uhh don't want this to become an abortion thread, (there's already one in main btw) but I would like to mention it is about killing an innocent life and not a religious one or control of people's bodies... and politics isn't so simple to call one bad and the other good. Both have flaws and both have good ideas.
because generally right wingers are against women having control of their own bodies and abortion happens to be an issue of whether or not women control their bodies
not an original opinion but how does being against abortion, which is more of a religious issue, make you more right-wing? why does it have any bearing at all on your ranking? why is it even in the quiz?
So I took it as though I were a totalitarian dictator who likes art, believes racial and gender equality is important, uses propaganda to keep his state in line, believes keeping secrets from the state is punishable by death, and will murder all dissidents.
The political compass is garbage--you can predict exactly what you will get knowing how your results will be plotted. And it assigns no weight as to how important each question is, ignoring that real political parties evolve through tradeoffs on less-important issues for more-important issues
On top of that the questions are so poorly worded as to be worthless

This has nothing to do with politics--the quiz maker provides no evidence that your response is correlated with political beliefs. Without proof of clear predictive ability you might as well be taking a quiz to find out "Which Smurf are You?"
