Politics General

almost 6 years

Since some users dislike the political discussions on the Sandbox lobby wall, I’ve decided to make a serious thread where people can discuss political issues/tangentially-related discourse.

Please keep name-calling to a minimum and remember that site rules still apply. While this “debate” is not technically “moderated,” I reserve the right to mute anyone who decides to make this thread all about Jamal or Neanderthals or whatever.

Please just try to use this space to contain conversations that are otherwise derailing in other places.

if you have seen the news lately, any allegation causes a lot of backlash against the accused

tell that to literally every victim of sexual abuse im sure theyd be happy

yes, they should know that it all happens after they come out about something.

also there is no reason why you should be greedy enough to let yourself get r@ped so you can get a supply of money, because you are subjecting yourself to a nonstop bullying situation, giving the perpetrator power over you, getting your body violated, and managing to cream away a few dirty bucks when you can conversely get rid of the threat before it can reach others, show your worth, and earn a few bucks the right way, WITHOUT getting your body exploited and your life ruined.

of these things, they all say that there are other factors contributing to the lower mean annual salary. of the ones that mentioned that women get paid less than men at certain jobs, it mentions overtime hours and maternity leave, just as I had mentioned before. And the statement in one of the article titles: Women lose $500 Billion, would be faulty because it is not like they are screwed over or have to pay $500 Billion, it is a simple comparison of counterparts EARNINGS, which is the complete opposite of LOSING (yes, I just denounced the clickbait of the title)

not so simple as that when it's also a capitalist scam

Well, women are allowed to buy what they want to buy, as well as men are allowed to buy what they want to buy. Targeting towards certain people may happen, but it is not like the government is forcing little girls to pay for barbie dolls or little boys to pay for dump trucks.

People have their preferences on what they want, and it might be slightly affected by the media. So what? Is it a bad thing that a lot of women like to wear makeup, and is it a bad thing that a lot of men don't like wearing makeup?

Women recounting their experiences of experienced sexual assault. Real eye opener that this is something every women is likely to experience or witness firsthand. As proven by
https://www.nsvrc.org/statistics
(note the "One in five women and one in 71 men will be at some point in their lives") Note the number of sources cited in this link.

Out of all this, I still see no viable reason to not report it when it happens, and if you have seen the news lately, any allegation causes a lot of backlash against the accused. Waiting to tell the story allows perpetrators to do other things. People who have experienced sexual assault should not be "shamed" for being violated, that is such a bullcrap argument, and nowhere in here does it say that anybody was shamed, even after coming out about it.

Also, how would there be an estimated 90% of sexual crimes gone unreported? If there is knowledge about these crimes according to this department, then they are reported, technically.

Maybe the problem isn't that any gender should wear makeup and look beautiful. Instead not realizing that no one has to wear makeup to be beautiful.

maybe men should stop thinking basic hygiene (NOT including being pressured to cake yourself in 50 pounds of overpriced makeup) is gay

women also look better in general because it's frowned upon if men use makeup

Would you say that men have any say in one's abortive rights? Would you say the same conversely for women?

men, as a class, shouldnt have a say in a women's right to an abortion. unfortunately, we do. unfortunately, men in power (and reverse cucked women too) do in fact limit women's rights to abortion. now, if youre talking about a father of a baby, sure, he can weigh in a bit, in most contexts. in the end, its a baby growing inside of her, and its her choice.

its not rocket science dude
men dont want women to have the same amount of power than them so they go to stupid lengths to keep them out
men think women shouldnt be allowed to have the same jobs as them

dont tell me youve never seen those gross "get back in the kitchen and make me a sandwich" jokes directed @ women who aspire to make a difference in the world
