Roles Suggestions Thread

We are looking for suggestions for new roles that should be added to epicmafia, be creative and try to come up with ideas of roles that aren't similar with the ones we already have.

The best 2 ideas will be picked and lucid was thinking about rewarding those who came up with the ones that are going to be selected.

War demon recruits 2 players n1, these players become minions

Shares a night meet with its minions

War demon cannot kill.

Can convert any role, including the Samurai, the Shrink and the Granny

Wins if he and his minions outnumber the rest of the village

Sided with the mafia.

Once per game can force someone to vote someone else. Vote cannot be OT'D if it is a hammer. Sided with maf

Hey lucid. There are currently a few roles which I'm not sure work properly or are broken right now that people would love to use in setups again. Check out bug forums for more information on those roles, or maybe people could post the roles/issues here. I think Disguiser was a big one that isn't working properly, just off the top of my head--I can't remember too many right now.

Thanks for what you do for the site again, much appreciated as always.

Multi-player minesweeper would be cool too, players can take turns sweeping mines. https://github.com/luizribeiro/minesweeper


there's no real multiplayer element to minesweeper tho. nine mens morris seems really really really arcane

Have a game mode that can sort everybody into two different daytime chats. In addition to the lynch (or perhaps, add a separate game mode where there aren't lynches so we can mix and match them), have a player trade vote. There's some very cool although specific roles that Two Rooms and a Boom has, so I would be really interested to combine this with the standard Mafia game.

Have you ever considered adapting elements from Resistance/Avalon?

Oh yeah I don't have a good name for this (I named it paralyzer but paralyzer already exists)

Paralyzer
- Once per game at night, can choose to make the next day go on forever
- Town can keep on lynching until someone wins or they lynch the paralyzer (if they lynch the para the day ends)
- Wins if among last two living

One more thing - revising the Seer:

- Knows all mafia from the beginning of the game.
- If lynched at the end of the game, the last mafia can guess who the Seer is for autowin.
- If the Seer dies, they will appear as a random (non-mafia) role in the setup and their will will always be blank. If dead, the mafia can still attempt a guess to the Seer's identity at the end of the game.
- If there are multiple Seers in a game, only one Seer will know the mafia at any given time.
- If there are two mafias and multiple Seers, the knowledge of the mafias will be split between them.
- Sided with the village.

i think fake knives should be fixed if they haven't been, anyone that gets stabbed with them dies instead of living

Oh and here are some other ideas I had

Golem
Appears to everyone as a villager.
Once per game, can "animate" and gain the ability to kill players at night.
Town will be alerted when golem animates.
Golem is immune to death before its animation.
Wins if among the last two alive.

Doppelgänger
Is assigned to a player to a random village player at game start to be their doppelgänger.
If doppelgänger is killed, kill is redirected to target.
Wins if among last two alive, cannot win if target is alive.

Minotaur
Kills 1 player who visits them.
Once per game at night, can hide inside its labyrinth to prevent getting killed or killing anyone.
Wins if among last two alive.

Mercenary
Can kill 1 player every night.
If visited by town, becomes townsided.
If visited by mafia (but not killed), becomes mafiasided.
Wins with whichever side visited them last (does not count towards mafia total), or if never visited, wins if among last two alive.

Death Worm
Starts at length of 5 kilometers.
Grows 1 kilometer every day/night cycle.
Loses 1 kilometer if visited at night.
Wins if the Death worm is 10 kilometers, or among the last two alive.

I have two roles I made:

Falconer (https://epicmafia.com/role/11853)
- Must choose one person, sends falcon to them during the night.
- If the person receiving the falcon is sided with the town, falcon returns in 1 day.
- If the person receiving the falcon is sided with the mafia, falcon returns in 2 days.
- If the person receiving the falcon is 3rd party, falcon does not return.
- When falcon returns, falconer can send falcon to another person, same rules apply.
- If falcon is with dead, falcon returns the next day.
- Sided with the village.

Embalmer (https://epicmafia.com/role/54794)
- Once per game, visits one person at night.
- Embalms them alive.
- The next day, the person will be silenced and fiddled, unable to vote or see other votes, and will appear dead to other players.
- The target receives a message that they have been buried alive.
- The next night, the target will "come back to life" and be cured of all afflictions.
- Sided with the mafia.

Obviously Embalmer would be harder to code. Feel free to edit some parts of the roles!

Savior:

Chooses one person on first night.

When the savior dies, the person chosen becomes a silent villager to repent for their past sins, despite what they were before.

Can even convert mafia roles.

Can't convert old maid/cthulhu.

Astronaut

Aligned with the mafia

Once during the game, during the night chooses one person, and during the day the astronaut can choose to send that person to space until the next day (no voting, talking for the rest of that day or night actions until they return) (has a 50% chance of the astronaut's identity being anonymous) (has a 25% chance of dying from oxygen loss)

Aligned with the third party

Once during the game, the Pyromaniac can kill one person and all of that person's visitors
