Sexism and racism is inherently linked to power, in such a way that women can't (really) be sexist towards men, and black people can't (really) be racist towards white people.
Yes there are exceptions, I don't want someone to bring up some 3,000 year old civilization that was dominated by black people where they had more privilege.
Racism and sexism are inherently a privilege issue, you can bring up all the cases you want of hate crimes against men from extremists or hate crimes against white people from black people - but it's not racism.
It's discrimination.
If you want to make a case against this then you can prove that women have more privilege than men, or that black people have more privilege than white people.
Maybe it's sad to say that this is primarily the american scope that I'm speaking of, I'm an american so I'm more in tune with american politics and the racial scope in this area.
okay but that doesn't change the fact that he appeals to racist rhetoric quite openly and that he implied that a large chunk of illegal immigrants are rapists and criminals, also your analogy about the 1000 "good" illegals is silly, you should look up the crime rate between illegals and american citizens for stuff like r@pe/murder.
trump has made a countless amount of sexist comments and has bragged about sexually grabbing women without their consent. it isn't an overreaction to call someone who does sexist things a sexist.
you're assuming that me and other non-trump supporters are brainwashed by -pc culture- when in reality we're making realistic judgement of trumps based off of his words/actions
you make a good point. But he didnt win because of people pointin the finger at everything non-pc. It's mostly millenials who do that - very few of which supported or voted for trump. He won because America is an undemocratic country, He was running against Hillary Clinton and the Clinton campaign team majorly up their advertising campaigns etc to appeal to the sjw's that you mention instead of trying to win over establishment republicans. they essentially advertised for trump with the "basket of deplorables". She was also far too passive at debates.

he said that those that come here illegally are not the kind of people we want in this country, because some of them turn out to be murderers and rapists--people that should not be here in the first place but yet because of our lack of border control, are here. i'd rather keep out 1000 "good" illegals, just to keep out the 10 or so illegals that will r@pe and murder american citizens, he's saying it as a talking point, as a thinkpiece for his supporters--it's a smart move and it didn't hurt him politically whatsoever, only the people that already hated him.
trump isn't sexist, he's just a former playboy that said lewd things in the past, the real sexists are leaders from saudi arabia, afghanistan, quatar, etc....let's not jump on the SEXIST WESTERN PATRIARCHY bandwagon because that's just propaganda
and if you're going to hate trump, you should understand WHY he won it's because of people like you that point the finger at everything "non-pc" as either racist, sexist, bigoted, homophobic
no one thinks that trump/his supporters are racist because they want to enforce immigration/border laws, they think trump is racist because he appeals to racist rhetoric (he retweeted a fake statistic made by a white supremacy group about black people killing white people), he called illegal mexican immigrants rapists and criminals (which is not true), he was sued for racial discrimination a million times, and there's a whole bunch more
people think he's bigoted because he wants to ban an entire religion from our country (in doing that, he is also appealing to basic fears)
and people think he is sexist because of the many disparaging comments he has made about women, and the fact that he bragged about sexual assault and brushed it off as locker room talk
if you're gonna support trump, you should understand where the other side is coming from in calling trump those things

keeping borders secure and vetting citizens properly and not having people walk over our laws because "muh poverty" is important, not racist, nor sexist thanks!

thats like someone running for a trophy vs arcbell hacking a trophy
i don't know, i'm just speaking from experience but when someone calls me a homophobe, misogynist, or racist just because i have different priorities, all it does is put me on the defensive.
i don't think we're going to have a successful national dialogue on the subjects until we stop branding everyone who disagrees as them, because i can only imagine that everyone else feels the same way as i do when they're called these words
i guess my real problem is with the people who throw these words around too liberally. i just think it's really harmful
i mean, it's hard for me to figure out how to discuss it properly. in my mind, the people who voted for trump were okay enough with his racism/sexism/bigotry that it didn't put them off enough, and that is a HUGE problem for me, and it needs to be addressed
but i also understand that people don't take kindly to being called those things, and there's probably a better way to do it
I feel like I am getting more and more racist the older I become and the more I talk to American black people.
This redefinition of words doesn't really help where you make a claim that racism requires privilege or power but it is nonsensical for that to be the definition. If you redefine something it loses all of its power for example if you redefine rapist to mean someone who has consensual sex with another person then rapist no longer holds any power because most people are now rapists. When you redefine racist to mean something else you can no longer use it as a stick to call out bad behavior.
i voted trump because i wanted to be able to say our president bodyslammed vince mcmahon

i voted trump because i believe american resources (like citizenship) should be given to the wealthy and educated.
yes, that may "disproportionately cripple" certain communities. but i dont think citizenship should be prioritized by need

If you want to actually have your opinion heard and validated then practice some empathy and respect towards the other party even if you don't agree with them. Acting sanctimonious is disgusting.

That's the main problem with arguing anything even remotely related to this. If you don't agree with someone you're deemed reprehensible and receive condescending replies.
All right this is the part where the other guy tries to fight science so I'm gonna go to bed
You seem to be oblivious to the reality of life as a maligned political minority in the U.S. I am too, but at least I don't try to scoff at people who are actually part of that minority and spout garbage like "You should fear for the future of the country but not for your own well-being."
The condescending tone is the silliest part of trying to understand anyone's prerogative and makes most people just toss the other's perspective out entirely.
people being personally bigoted isn't even the most pressing issue. it's when the power of the state backs policies that disproportionately cripple certain communities that problems arise and that's why i made that statement about trump voters. i was actually talking about young adults, our age. they're educated and they knew who they were voting for.
i can also only speak from personal experience, but when the neo-nazis and these alt-right penisshafts started coming out and supporting trump, i didn't feel any more fearful, as a jew with a very jewish last name and a very jewy look to myself. i don't think being fearful does anything other than cloud your judgment, and the people i surround myself with tend to agree, so i've probably created my own echo chamber when it comes to that, which is ironically my biggest problem with other people
i'm rambling at this point, good night

Right, I only made that point because you said that your friends are afraid for their lives due to Trump being elected.
