Tatami you said "I only find the game fun if I'm allowed to be as complex and thoughtful as I can be, and while it's not impossible in a 10p, it's a lot less conducive of an environment." So you feel like you are allowed to be more and more complex and thoughtful in setups like VDLI? I agree that you have to come up with different ways to towntell but wouldn't a 10p setup add one more dimension of strategy as far as what actions to do? Example:
VDLI- appear as town and keep finding new ways to appear as town.
There's a reason I'm widely regarded as the best scum of all time (my town game needs work). I'm all about innovation. There is definitely the potential for more complexity in 10p, but when people skim or barely read for content it sets a limit to what you can do. This is why I called it "non conducive" and fundamentally, unfun for me personally.
As I said, I've played them for 6 years, both as Empire and Tatami, and have proven I can excel at them. But when I enjoy 7p/8p setups entire magnitudes more, I'm just going to do that instead. I could work on balancing both having fun and winning more in 10p, but it's a lot harder to change how the other players play than it is to get them to read you a certain way.
My time for playing becomes more and more limited-in 4/5 months I don't even combine for 10k points on Tatami and Iverson. I have time to win games, I have time fo have fun, I don't have time to figure out how to change everyone else midgame to make myself have fun. 10p setups are great and I get that, but this is why they're not for me.
Every player in the best player conversation should actually legitimately think they are the best. That is the only way to actually achieve it.
At the end of the day, any of us can beat each other in any setup on any given day and that's the truth.
you're being biased because i've played a bunch with her before and she mishammered every time

crypto, gira, shivv, soben, and all of these overrated players also hammered correctly very consistently
Truth.
Honestly, not even being biased here, I would rather have Atikur have hammer in a 3 way lylo over anyone else if I had a trophy on the line. You may think I am being biased but she legit doesn't mishammer in lylo lol
lol since when? this round does not back up this biased a$$ statement. hold this L

your playstyle is more conductive and easier to follow, while stepping back and trying to lay out your logic around white noise is much harder and can reap bad results. i play off the room and feedback more than i do internal feeling, which is why you're somewhat right in how i prefer smaller setups.

The point is that everyone has a different playstyle and enjoys different setups. Just because I use caps doesn't mean I'm not logical or thoughtful. As an experiment I made an anime alt as you well know which had a "Retti/Empire" playstyle. 58.7% at 5000 points.

Action Setup- have guiser cc, don't cc at all, guilty your lawyer, sac bomb, sac orc etc. all while also appearing as town and finding new ways to appear as town.
Retti, there is no right or wrong way man. You feel your way is right because it's more conducive to your style and you prefer smaller setups. I feel my way is right because it's a social game and I like action setups. This debate can go on till the end of time.
"if you want a high rate at 10,000 points you shouldn't play a 10 person setup in general" Let's see where I end up on Dominate after 4k more points.

maxwell, fantastic and effulgence were all overrated too
all of them and the other vets that were considered to be good played sub-par upon returning. maxwell sucked on resurgence, fantastic sucked on skeptical and effulgence sucked on everest
