also catbae played like 40 games on jan2.0 i wouldn't consider that a large sample size. if you check his top 5 most played setups they're all balanced setups other than FJ 2.0
shucks says jan 2.0 really isn't that hard to get a high win% on, it's incredibly luck-based i think you can carry yourself on jan 2.0 but after a while you'll get enough towns that it'll balance your stats out to 55% at minimum if you want a high rate at 10,000 points you shouldn't play a 10 person setup in general
being luck based would make it harder to ensure a high winning percentage though, wouldn't it? The N1 kill in a setup like that greatly shapes the rest of the game. It'd be interesting to see winrate splits depending on the N1 outcome.
jan 2.0 really isn't that hard to get a high win% on, it's incredibly luck-based and pretty much every game depends on a 50/50 cop cc battle just like FP/Classic mafia
i think fading cheated but i've only heard from word of mouth
yeah there is so much that can go wrong on it that's outside of your control.
fading had a 66% w/r on false which was post-2011. idk if he cheated on that, it's hard to tell with that dude
Jan 2.0 is incredibly, incredibly hard to post 64% on over a large sample size, I guessed that you were trolling before but that basically confirms it.
catbae was also skewed - he played a bunch of jan 2.0, alcoways (basically a classic mafia variant), fancy pants
when you have 500,000 points across all of your accounts like soda does, you're bound to win a few trophies just out of sample size i thought veiexku was actually pretty decent, PE was also pretty good but i feel like when i played with him in 2010 he was already past his prime
Brown's post was insightful. I think I playstyle varied wildly depending on my role.
I mean, while I said winrate isn't a great indication, it's still really useful as a hard measure of how much you win. Catbae posted the highest legit w/r since 2010 by a mile, and on Jan to boot. Animegayboy is skewed due to S&L but is still insane.
PE, veiexku, soda won a bunch of trophies and i don't think they're that impressive.
you can make an argument for soben being overrated but gira is easily a top-5 mafia player
gira and soben both won many trophies and had more than one hall of fame accounts when epicmafia was at its most competitive
gira and soben were overrated and mediocre gira's opening in every game was like an awkward mute mouse and his reads weren't that consistent. Soben pretty much did nothing in every game but occasionally insult users in broken English

Tatami says The point is you called it "fundamental" which implies a "right" way. The words you were looking for were likely "logical", "thoughtful", etc. to me, that is the right way so yeah
Tatami says Brown's posts in this thread are really, really good. i don't think any post that long about mafia can be "good"
CAPS LOCK, loud, emotional!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TIL the skills needed to be good at mafia
it's tough to say. There were a lot of players who could whoop my butt, although some of them were objectively not that great, but simply matched up well against me. also, the meta has changed so wildly too.

but if we look at it like the spectrums as you put it then yes youre quite good at what you do
