This website is far past the point where having ranked and unranked games in main lobby makes sense.

Both sandbox and main lobby suffer from this weird choice. Unranked games should go in sandbox, which will boost the ever slowing population of 12 person closed setups, and ranked games should go in main lobby.

Without the influx of unranked games being made, competitive games will not be second paged so fast, and thus fill more often, allowing more than 2 setups to be played each round.

Remove unranked games from main lobby

the only reason shoving unranked into sandbox is being suggested is because kylo wants to irritate sandbox players for some bizzare reason.

The ranked/unranked split is fine in my opinion but there is no reason for unranked to go to sandbox instead of just a new lobby

The funniest thing here is, whenever I saw a competitive person on sandbox, they were just there to troll and/or suicide on purpose and then say that's what sandboxers do all the time. The only competitive person who didn't do this was pranay because he was recruiting them for comp.

the thing is, people will only truly learn competitive mafia if they are thrown into the deep end and PLAY competitive mafia. you don't learn anything playing unranked. this is why when new people join the site who are looking for actual rigorous mafia gameplay are put off by the mind-numbing repetitiveness in unranked games.

removing the unranked barrier means noobs will rack up notes/violations much easier because they'll be forced to play red hearts or turned off from the site altogether by sandbox's wild ride

if you're worried about new people being turned off from this site you shouldn't even be worried about this move, and be worried about plenty of other things that would need to change

This is a terrible idea, as others have said. Do not push unranked games into Sandbox. The personalities of players in each are vastly different. Meshing them together would not work and would most likely cause many people to leave the site.

If anything, bring back training and competitive lobby like back in the day. That way new players have a place to go to actually LEARN in a LEARNING environment while experienced players can play with other experienced players. New players will never learn through the methods of sandbox. If you are seriously considering this idea, it should be reconsidered.

As evidenced by the fact that the personalities of the userbases has changed constantly and was the same when they were in the same lobby, the difference in personalities is nothing but a matter of perception arising from the separation.
