This website is far past the point where having ranked and unranked games in main lobby makes sense.

Both sandbox and main lobby suffer from this weird choice. Unranked games should go in sandbox, which will boost the ever slowing population of 12 person closed setups, and ranked games should go in main lobby.

Without the influx of unranked games being made, competitive games will not be second paged so fast, and thus fill more often, allowing more than 2 setups to be played each round.

If there's two things sandbox is good at it's not taking it seriously and picking on anyone they see, especially noavis/dumb players

Although it's not something I should have to explain to someone who's played this site a lot. While I posted a topic regarding noavis(https://epicmafia.com/topic/81345) it still goes unnoticed as sandbox continues to be hostile to the rise of a new userbase.

I tell you here is what will happen. The sandbox players will join the sandbox setups. The displaced main players will join the main setups. There will be no change other than you now have to enforce this pointless rule.

its not about having a rivalry its about the fact that the sandbox community will be flooded with people and cease to be the pleasant community that it once was.

Anyways, as a person who spends too much time in sandbox

-12 player games fill just fine. There are 8 player and 6 player closed setups for the slower hours of the day.

-If new players go to sandbox they'll face multiple problems.

1. Sandbox setups have about 100 roles in it. It's not a good introduction to the site.

2. No one ever takes any game serious ever. And even if one person does, then the other 10-11 people won't. Sandbox lives on a random lynching mob mentality.

3. Most people use sandbox as a background game while they jerk off or want to play with friends. Ranked games will actually fill slower because less people will be willing to play once exposed to the sandbox community. Starting them off in main is better.

No new players sitting through sandbox to try ranked games(the purpose of the site, one would say), and as players quit/get banned from ranked your games will actually fill slower then currently.




Feel free to argue me on any of those points, but sending new players to sandbox will just worsen the situation on both sides. Being exposed to sandbox will give people a different opinion of the site then being exposed to main lobby, as they won't even know what role they are, while in main lobby all you have to do is over over the role at the top to see what it is. You can't do that in closed setups.

No. They would absolutely not appreciate that.

Many people in sandbox are there for the community, having a huge influx of other users... I don't want to say "ruin" but I don't think it would do much good.

shove all the unranked into a new lobby and leave sandbox alone. Perhaps having it as the designated lobby for closed setups.

I didn't say this with any "rivalry" in mind. There would just be a huge change in the community for both unranked players and Sandbox players. I didn't know there was a serious rivalry anyways


You've been here about as long as me, so you know for a fact that sandbox has changed fron 10gauged to Bronies to whatever-the-heck weirdoes plague it now.

Quick reminder that in the original single lobby, all unranked players were together any damn way.
