1. This won't change the "two setups per round" thing that's going on. It's been that way for so long because people have preferred setups and they like to play what they know. All that will happen is people will join the one they see and like, and your nifty little "played 5 times" in three weeks setup will still drift down. We've tried to fix it before.

2. If this happens, new people won't join Main Lobby to play ranked if they're being started in Sandbox.

3. Alternatively, people who don't want to play seriously will be stranded in ranked(because people by and large stay with the familiar and don't click things like "sandbox") and we'll have a new forum thread complaining about people not playing properly in ranked.

Pie's ego is real,people care alot for their pie.
Some of the players dont play just to not ruin a 60% pie, or a winning steak
Making redheart games, games where you are suposed to make mistakes and learn will increase the smurfing on the website and people will not play on their main account, because both of redheart ( the games where you will face newbies) and yellow hearts affect your pie.

Ranked/rated games are one of the reasons why smurfing exist.

Right now both ranked communities and one unranked community share a lobby while the most dead community has an almost entirely empty lobby to themselves.

Red heart games are supposed to be where you are allowed to make mistakes. Moving unranked games to sandbox has no con, except convincing lucid to do it.

Hello Saiyan, iyou have some good points, but i dont feel like moving unranked games to sandbox would help, or at least thats what i think, feel free to explain more.


I've been playing an rts game since 2011 and and i used to be very bad on it, I learned alot with the tutos and the replays anaylses, because you can learn so much by analyzing others. If you play to implement stuff you learned via analysis, you progress a lot faster. It is important too, to experiment with random stuff from time to time to practice adapting.

My suggestion is to make a better tuto for new players, explaining them the game mechanics because alot of newbies dont even know how to vote sometimes or doesnt vote the same as their partner and forcing a nl , And game reviews provided by Top EM players, it will show them how to cc proprelly, how to act as towny as possibly ....ect

because as an unranked player i've never seen newbies learning enough to be able to play competetively because no one really cares enough to teach them, and its mostly because of the circle jerks.

If mods decide to move unranked games to sandbox I suggest Banning from the main lobby all the troll roles who arent played competetively, people will be able to play them only on Sandbox and finally there will be only unranked setups like : Fp,guns & hookers ...ect and games will be taken more seriously.


I aslo think that playing dirrectly ranked games for new users is a bad idea because ranked players are mean towards newbs and they will not hesitate to report them. People dont enjoy seeing their pie being ruined because of a noobish mistake.
And it will also help the banned users and to gt and troll more easily.
