This website is far past the point where having ranked and unranked games in main lobby makes sense.

Both sandbox and main lobby suffer from this weird choice. Unranked games should go in sandbox, which will boost the ever slowing population of 12 person closed setups, and ranked games should go in main lobby.

Without the influx of unranked games being made, competitive games will not be second paged so fast, and thus fill more often, allowing more than 2 setups to be played each round.

I'm aware of the mentor program, and think it is a sad testemant to how little effort we are willing to put into teaching new players.

Really Germatron? I'm lying about meeting new players that I helped learn? To what end? What purpose does this lie serve?

You can take those questions and start asking them during mafia games, too. With any luck, you'll be as good as the player I taught within a few years.

No, the games were unranked games. It took me about ten minutes of asking who wanted to play seriously during my "4 unranked games" to find 3 players who then played multiple featured games with me in a row, though, and said they couldn't wait until they got enough points for gold hearts.

I then tried to tell them that most gold hearts players are mean, and not to get discouraged by mess-ups, because I think the way competitive players treat new players is the second largest factor in driving them away.

If you spend ten minutes in unranked games of fancy pants asking if anyone wants to learn to play competitively, you'll find multiple takers.
