A former Texas educator filed a federal discrimination complaint against a learning center in Katy, Texas, after being fired for refusing to address a 6-year-old girl as a transgender boy.The boys parents were a same sex couple
Thoughts? o.O
Was the teacher justified in calling the student a girl
You're being dumb, at the age of 6 in school teachers do a lot of group tasks, Boys do X girls do Y. If the teacher said Boys do X and the child stood up and the teacher saw a 6 year old girl stand up they'd probably say uhhh.... Christina I said Boys not girls, what are you doing.
being that this is like first grade, kids don't know a lot of really fundamental basics and i wouldn't be surprised if a well-meaning teacher just thinks a kid is confused from media and junk like that because kids are really malleable that young and generally don't think about that sort of nonsense when they're all practically the same anyway
i dont know anything about this particular situation though because im not clicking on an article from world star hiphop .com
If the same 6 year old kid went to school saying I hate black people you all would agree that it isn't the childs own opinion on their racism, instead it was something they most likely than not learned from their parents.
Much like this transgender identity. At the age of 6 you're incredibly impressionable, if your parents are telling you that you're an XYZ at the age of 6 you're going to believe you're an XYZ
bro i learned all the multiplication tables at like age 4 and all the president/vice pred/sos/all that too i dont even know it now kids r smart

Even if the parents are dumb and are encouraging a confusing subject the teacher has no place to cause issues with it. The teacher should just call the child by their name and not even use labels but they decided to be difficult

I had a talk with some 15 year old and she told me that she's gonna try and not force any gender identity on her baby, and I was confused about how she would go about that and she merely replied 'I'll let them figure it out!'
i also don't get it, if you got a pecker your a boy, if you got a damp cave your a girl. That's all there is too it. You can be a gay girl or boy and that's fine by me, but once you start saying your not a girl when your clearly a girl then your just lying to your self
it doesn't really matter if the kid can or can't decide their gender, transgender people are real and exist. it is not up to the teacher to decide if the kid is transgendered or not and as long as the kid is serious about being addressed by the other gender the teacher should respect their wishes
but it's up to the parents to assign a gender to the kid?
hi as one of those Evil Misunderstand Transgenders you all seem to be so afraid of referring to id like to say:
anyone claiming the parents forced it on the child should consider that mental abuse rather than "ha ha just bad parenting" in forcing their child into a gender role. otherwise, guess what?
YOU'RE TRANSPHOBIC!
now, you don't want to be transphobic, do you? then maybe shut the hell up and realize hey, not referring to someone what they want to be called is kind of a move! sort of dehumanizing! and you're going but wait i haven't done this then guess what? you're not a part of the problem!
but riley, you may say in anguish, that is totally irrelevant had you just read! oh, then, why does this blanantly transphobic topic exist? why must it be called into question that maybe ignoring what someone idenfites with is kind of cruel? sorry i don't want to go through page of page of more-than-plausible transphobia and just be blunt with you all.
/thread, and also, side note! i knew i was a boy from a very young age. so young it seems as though i was born knowing, while being raised in a totally neutral environment from *my parents*.
Can you put something together that makes sense to read?
sorry your ability to read has been handicapped by humor and satire?
Alternatively, it was just a bad post.
it looks like, with felons, me calling you out as backed you into a corner you cannot get out of. it's okay, friend. we all make mistakes.
