Hello Sandboxers. Lucid is interested in making new roles, and I know you guys have a bunch of good ideas, so what I'd like to do is get a list of all of the best ideas in this thread and have a poll that you guys can vote on for lucid to make.
On an unrelated note, if you guys know of any bugs with existing roles, please PM me so I can test it out and forward it to lucid so they can get fixed

dead people cant talk either
it would work better if it was like wills imo. like you can leave a dying message that only the necromancer or w/e can read. so its like reading that person's final note. that way the dead people can still revel in discovering mafia and all that jazz and talk crap about the players w/o being overheard.
idk. it just seems messy to go the way of the grave. like. dead is dead and pulling away from that kind of ruins the point of the game if you can just learn everything from the dead post mortem.

∞ Lucker ∞ sided with the third ∞ starts the game with a Chest ∞ can open the chest at night ∞ when opened, the chest will grant the Lucker something depending on how long the Lucker has waited to open the chest ∞ rewards are as follows:
Tier 4 (opened it on n1) - Bread, Crystal, Key, or a Mason suit Tier 3 (opened it on n2) - a fake vest, a fake gun, a real vest, or a real gun Tier 2 (opened it on n3) - a real vest or a real gun Tier 1 (opened it on n4) - an extra life (like clockmaker) and a real gun

Skunk:
-Sided with thirds -N1 can choose one person to make smelly -If that person is visited or visits anyone, that person is smelly too -Wins if everyone alive including the skunk is smelly -Cannot win if dead
Jock:
-Sided with village -Gets a football D1 -Cannot talk or vote the whole game until the football is thrown -If football hits maf, maf is revealed -If football hits town, jock dies
It's like an interesting double-check role that can't participate until they do something smart without hipfiring

And here's two from me:
Martian (when I play mafia irl we call it alien, but for obvious reasons that isn't possible here (although I wouldn't be against taking out the Alien role completely since it has zero chances of winning)). This one's like fool, just more complex.
∆ 3rd party. ∆ If visited by any type of doctor, dies. ∆ If visited by mafia, doesn't die but gets activated. ∆ Activation lasts for a day (say you were activated by maf n2, that means your activation lasts d2). ∆ While activated, has to get lynched. ∆ Wins if lynched while activated, game is over because Martian explodes.
Voldemort
◦ Two times per game can choose a person in a night meeting. ◦ That person becomes a Horcrux. ◦ Voldemort can't die if his Horcruxes are not dead. ◦ Can have up to 2 Horcruxes per game. ◦ 'Only I can live forever': Wins if alive alone or among the final two. ◦ Sided with the 3rd party.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but other than priest, which is a passive role, there is no one who can know what role visited a player. Here's my 2 suggestions.
====== Observer: + Watches one player at night. + Will know what roles visited that player. + Sided with the village. ======
And If that is overpowered, here's my alternate suggestion:
====== Witness: + Watches one player at night. + If that player dies, will know what role killed them. + Sided with the village. =====
It's not mine but I found it and made some changes...
- Each day receives one target. - The Assassin may choose to visit or not that target at night. - If visiting the target, will make a kill attempt. - If the Assassin is visited by ANY investigative role that night, the Assassin will be revealed. - Wins if two of their targets die and the Assassin is still alive or if final two alive. - If village/third party wins, Assassin won't steal their win. If mafia wins, Assassin will steal their win and win alone.
NOTE: last point is because it isn't an instant win for Assassin. Ex: clockmaker wins if hitting 12 o'clock, but Assassin must wait to the game to finish in order to win. Also, the 4th point could also be:
- If the target is visited by anyone that night, they will know Assassin's identity and he'll be revealed to everyone.
EDIT: Would appear as innocent on cop reports unless he decides to kill that night.
• Can reveal a player's true role once per game • Gives out one crystal ball each night • When the holder of a crystal dies, the role of the last player chosen will be revealed to all • Sided with the village
I realized there wasn't a role that specifically gives out crystal balls, and I think that should become a thing. It also introduces a new mechanic that reveals someone's true role (bypasses tailor, actress, even a celebrity if they're culted)
