Hello Sandboxers. Lucid is interested in making new roles, and I know you guys have a bunch of good ideas, so what I'd like to do is get a list of all of the best ideas in this thread and have a poll that you guys can vote on for lucid to make.

On an unrelated note, if you guys know of any bugs with existing roles, please PM me so I can test it out and forward it to lucid so they can get fixed

at night chooses one person to love, the following nights if the person loved by the Yandere visits anyone except for the Yandere then the yandere will kill them, regardless of who they visited or was visited by, can only be saved by traps, vests and not visiting anyone, traps will kill the yandere, only works on visiting roles. people who are loved by the Yandere will receive the system message "Someone is watching you intently"

if the yandere watches a non visiting role then they will be notified after a day that they have gotten bored of their target and will be able to choose another person. if yandere has killed someone then they get to choose another person, if the yandere is visited by their lover the lover will act as an unwilling bodyguard, from then on taking any bullets and kills in stead of the Yandere.

if a lover was killed instead of the yandere then the yandere's love ability no longer works and will instead act like a hooker.

does not attend mafia meetings, shows up as mafia, can be thulu'd and can target other mafia.

Insurgent (third)

- Any player who visits the insurgent becomes a follower.
- Wins by majority.
- If the insurgent dies, followers cannot win.

- Can send anonymous messages to any night meeting.
- Role is revealed to all when visited.
- Wins if among the final two players alive.

Defector (third)

- Randomly aligned with town/mafia at game start.
- Can change alignment each night.
- Appears as a villager to investigative roles.
- Does not kill or attend meetings when sided with the mafia.
- Only wins if aligned with the winning team.

every night can choose 2 people, one to impose as and another that 'willingly' imposes the same, during the day the imposter and his/her chosen accomplice will share the same text colour/name and avatar as the person chosen to be imposed to everyone but themselves 'everyone perceives them as A if A was imposed but will still see themselves as B'

can choose to self impose* and will be able to choose a third person to join in on the fun, 'mind reading' or psychic roles will see through imposters disguise and oracle will show imposters true identity upon death

wins if the 'original' person is lynched 3 times *self imposing does not count* or if alive with village albeit less points, does not win with maf and shows up as 3rd in investigations

Banshee

once per game can screech during the day, this will clean the message board of all messages aside from your own and notifications, effect lasts for the whole day, can still see votes and message bubbles but any new messages aside from your own will not appear

if banshee chooses not to screech then the following night one visitor will be effectively 'fiddled' for the day, this ability prioritises 3rds, then village then maf, once banshee screeches then this ability no longer works

does not attend mafia meetings and shows up as maf when investigated, psychic and telepathic roles still see messages *screech ability does not work on them* does not visit, screech will not work if cthulud or silenced

Hermit
Village

cannot be masoned, can be culted, once per game if targeted by a killing role will activate a trap that saves the hermit and inflicts bleeding on one attempted murderer, does not inflict bleeding if murderer is vested, if multiple killers visit then trap targets maf then 3rd then village but will only work on one, if visited by more than 1 killer the hermit will still die.

At night gives 3 people one of three seperate items.
--The elder wand--
Whoever is currently holding the elder wand can not die during the day
--the resurrection stone--
The person who is holding the r. stone sees the graveyard text, and can talk to everyone in the GY for THAT DAY (also can talk to town). Does not work at night.
--cloak of invisibility--
Makes one person silenced, however their messages still seem to go through (so the person doesn't suspect he is silenced)
People can pass on the items at night.
If one person holds all the three items at one time, they are destroyed and so is death.
If death receives one of his items back, he dies.

ye, scaling roles is the next frontier in terms of new mechanics IMO but mr. wang would have to write more code for that. I made one earlier but its a more absurd and funner role than the one you suggested so yours may be the better candidate for making and utilizing that code

this is a cool role because if mafia are visited it is basically lights out for them. this role evens that out a bit.

there's probably a way more interesting application of this idea, this is just off the top of my head

i also thought of a role that could take action over two nights although its likely been suggested before

Assassin
- Tracks one person every odd night
- Kills that person every following night without fail
- Wins if alive

∆ on night one, will automatically die and protect the rest of the game from death for the night (think of it as an automatic virgin)
∆ if somehow survives night one, will advance 20 years to become the captain and thus gain a vest and a gun
