Same Sex Marriage/USA

over 9 years

The United States Supreme Court has ruled that same-sex couples have the right to marry in all 50 states. This is wonderful; I'm so happy!

i don't really have an opinion, but giga and nicole's posts are so artifical and melodramatic it's almost offensive

how can we be artificial about this stuff when we're both bisexual and understand first hand?

if you are someone who loves the world, this is one small step in the direction of universal acceptance of the brotherhood that is humanity.

The ruling was because of two female justices that Barack Obama implemented, because the vote was a very close 5/4. Obama, again, has done something huge, even with his presidency coming to an end.

yes, obama has clearly brought change to america. good and bad.

but not really. we're still living in a corporatocracy

I misread this as "two female justices that Barack Obama impregnated" and thought I'd missed a fantastic new scandal.

but generally most of the gay or lesbian people i meet i just don't like. mainly cause their annoying and won't shut the hell up about their sexuality

you probably have that perception that it's "most" because the ones who don't do it you never end up finding out are gay.

my best friend is a lesbian, and she doesn't talk about it at all, same with my brother...although i do think you are partially correct

i don't hate on LGBT people and I am fully supportive of them, but generally most of the gay or lesbian people i meet i just don't like. mainly cause their annoying and won't shut the hell up about their sexuality, same with youtubers. i have never liked the over dramatic vlog style, yet i am so glad the us is finally coming to their senses

I'm really glad to see this happen in my lifetime, and I wish that all of the LGBT who have commit suicide because of discrimination, and those in past generations were here to see this, but it has finally happened. Thank god.

I am so blessed to be able to see this in my lifetime. This is the end to legal discrimination. Color, race, gender, sexuality.

This is not the end of anything. This is just a step in the right direction. People of color and women are still struggling.

im talking in a general legal perspective.

Women are now allowed to vote and are no longer considered "good for nothing" (we have jobs, right to education, etc)

We apologized (And tried to make up for) discriminating against Japanese when putting them in internment camps.

Blacks are no longer slaves.

Gay individuals can get married.

There is still discrimination, yes. But from a legal perspective without nitpicking, it's a great thing to be celebrated and we should be proud that this even occurred in our lifetime.

Yes true we should celebrate people achieving the lowest level of human decency.
