cool, but gay marriage is a band aid issue for the larger straight society to ignore bills about gay homelessness rates and gay suicide rates as well. it's fine but there's a lot more battles to be had

I'm literally crying tears of joy... God is wonderful. For so long this simple, fundamental right has been oppressed and now finally the shackles have been broken in yet another country; homosexual couples in the states can now marry. It's just one country, but it's another country closer to every human on this Earth finally being able to marry whoever they love. We'll get there one day. It'll happen, and if not in my lifetime, then during someone else's.

me too. even though it's been legal in new york for a while, this is a huuuge milestone for america as a whole. im tearing up because I know how it feels to be socially denied and since this, i haven't come out to anyone irl. the fear of being rejected is enough to keep you hidden, never mind the law. so many people hide their sexuality and for what? to keep other people happy? it's impossible to make everyone happy and this is one step in the right direction. we proved everyone wrong, that the law is bigger than what other people think and now that it's in our favor, that's the biggest revenge of all.
