Denial of something's existence comes with far more ulterior implications than what are immediately presented. Should one deny something's existence then they should at least have a placeholder in mind of what the alternative is. The default allocation for this placeholder makes far less sense, in my mind, than the broad possibilities of something somewhat supernatural.
But apparently having this view makes me an idiot, at least by your standards.
